en route to the island. Here I am on the boat before I lost mobile coverage. Unfortunately, like a silly person I left my camera at my parents place, so only had my cam phone. They will have to send it over to me...soon!!!
Well, the island is beautiful as expected. The trip out here was quite pleasant although long. There are loads of birds - they have just returned to the island after winter. They are noddy terns, egrets, and some funny little ground birds whose name I have not discovered yet, but they will go into your accommodation if you don't keep your screen door shut. I went for a walk this afternoon around the island, and saw loads of stingrays just off the shore. and I saw some crabs scuttling by. Being a creature person, I can't wait to see what else there is to see.
Anyway, I start the spa therapy job tomorrow, so we shall see how I go! so great not to have to catch public transport - just stroll around the corner and I'm at work.
I'll keep you all posted....and hope to have my camera soon!
:-)
this is so not what i was going for focus-wise, but hey that's what you get sometimes when freelensing–especially on film. i kinda like the crazy amount of grain that happened, and the colours so whatev.
anyway, this is chris and he's awesome all the time, but he's extra awesome this week because he renewed my flickr pro account. legend.
ps. this was the same day this was taken.

Sun just disappearing behind a big karst mountain, seen from the boat achored in Ha Long Bay for the night.
We managed to get ourselves some front row seats. On the way back, it was raining and the outside seats were not as popular...
Like yeah, we rule this b!tch.
This is our terrace, sun looks so beautiful from there in mornings. You know, with my great cup of coffee, latest Finance or Marketing homework and toasted bread with cheese and sauce. Or something like that. Not to mention, few meters away there is a bridge with busy morning traffic and everyone passing might feel the sweet taste of envy.
The wife and I are celebrating ten years of being married to each other with a little trip in the sailboat without the kids. This is the view inside the hammock with both of us.

... foi difícil fotografar porque o barco não para de balançar, o barulho do barco não pode assustá-las e tem que fechar o zoom pra pegá-las, enfim, tudo tremido, mas acho que dá pra ter uma idéia...
