Litquake 2011 kicks off tomorrow, October 7th, so I thought I would post a photo from a few years ago (Litquake 2008) in honor of San Francisco's best & only week-long festival of literary mayhem. Who ever said books were boring...? (Not me!) :)

Jack Boulware is a writer & Co-Founder of Litquake.

Will Durst is a comedian & political satirist.

Guilty as charged!

Right in front of my nose, huge buildings, occupied by hundreds of families.

Downtown San Paulo, Brazil.

Few blocks from the City Hall, the Stock Exchange, the Central Bank among so many other fundamental, worthy and basic institutions.

In just one of the buildings, 475 families occupies 27 unfinished floors.

Kids play and run.

Clotheslines on the outside of the building, without any protection from falling down and in front of the entire city.

Windows, with breathtaking views, of one of the biggest and most populated cities on the Planet, made of compensated wood or sticks, even at the 27th floor.

People that use strength and organization to impose their reality, to a society that doesn’t care to listen.

Guilty as charged!

Spirit Phenomenon, 2016.

Times Square, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.

On assignment for Changi Class Magazine.

Iconic Times Square. I knew I wanted to get a frame like this even before we arrived, and the magazine telling me to make sure I get a frame like this was extra incentive. Would have liked to done a little more work with some of the people we met in Times Square, but with the mercury ready to explode out the bottom of the thermometer people weren't willing to stand still for long.

I was lucky to have Jahrensy and Damian along for the ride on this NYC adventure. See what they have to say about it.
