The beauty of Venice appears in the flower pots on the windows, the gliding motion of the sleek romantic gondolas and the ambiance created by living on the water.
I was feeling miserable from the lingering cold on my way to the gym this morning. Made a quick stop to get my medication, and noticed this beautiful fallen leaf on my windshield shortly after. I just couldn't resist pulling my phone out to capture this beautiful moment....
Trees and scrub behind the pond are lit up by the afternoon sun and create an interesting visual effect on the water reflections...Thanks to jim (MyArtistSoul) for the title idea!

I am on holiday in the south of France. I thought it would be a good opportunity to try some iPhone photography. I have my Nikon kit with me too and my go pro for time lapses, but can't post ant of these until I get back home to a computer.

An Osprey returns from the ocean with its catch; headed for a secluded tree on which to eat its meal.

Unique among North American raptors for its diet of live fish and ability to dive into water to catch them, Ospreys are common sights soaring over shorelines, patrolling waterways, and standing on their huge stick nests, white heads gleaming. These large, rangy hawks do well around humans and have rebounded in numbers following the ban on the pesticide DDT. Hunting Ospreys are a picture of concentration, diving with feet outstretched and yellow eyes sighting straight along their talons.

On one of our regular trips to the dog park we spotted this beautiful Lesser Goldfinch. This male swooped down from a tree and sat on the leaky waterspout. He sipped on the heavy droplets of water until his thirst was fully quenched. The birds love to swoop down on it and drink, provided there are no dogs around. This Lesser Goldfinch was just one of the many birds stopping by for a well-deserved drink.

For Macro Mondays 'On a Coin'
I used 5p coins and the width of the frame at the focal point was 6 cm 🌼😊
Recumbent bikes are very comfortable and fast - ideal for bike trips.
In july 2022 we were on the danish long-distance route number 8 and admired the beauty of the danish south sea.
The small country road runs on the edge of some hills, here close to home, in Italy, the view is magnificent and worths a stop. I like to shoot the roads.

The raptors are at the Terminal for a reason: Pigeons...and lots of them! These apex predators ( falcons, hawks, bald eagles) provide many good photo ops as they take advantage of this food abundance.
Here, we witness high speed aerial pursuit, stoop, posturing, thievery and even occasional aerial squabbles among the birds!

Delphinium macro in white. I am entering in the "Looking close...on Friday" group and the subject is "White on White". I find this one challenging but the beautiful Delphinium is a great help here :-)
We stayed in the small town of Ross on Wye in Herefordshire for a few days last week , it was a good base to explore the area. We managed to visit Tintern Abbey, Hereford, Hay on Wye, the Forest of Dean and the Malvern Hills . All these places were completely new to us so it was an interesting few days This shot of Ross is taken from the banks of the River Wye

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. Always shine diamond.
The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick.
