KING CRIMSON
I just couldn't believe my luck today, when I lifted a sheet of tin next to the car bonnet and this brick red snake was under it. It was a mere two days after finding that stunning orange Copperhead not more than 2 metres away! Portrait of a stupendous, adult male, red phase Lowland Copperhead (Austrelaps superbus) found thermoregulating under cover at lunchtime today. The weather conditions were mild, with full cloud cover and 19 deg. C. at that time. The sheet of tin he was under has been strategically placed to attract such beauties right near the front door, and it did not disappoint. I had not yet been acquainted with him prior to this meeting, so we got to know each other a little better over a quick photo shoot before he was returned to his tin palace. I really love how the coal-coloured interstitial skin is offsetting those raised, plate-like, scarlet red scales. What a glamourous pair of neighbours I've got!!

Just cant stay away from capturing different angles of this recessed wall. Ironically its right across from the art gallery that I visit often.
Inspired by MacroMonday and the #stitch theme. I noticed the stitches beginning to fray on this case as I packed up the 14-24mm lens case to return to lensrental.com.
Stitched letters that show = 25.4mm / 1 inch or less (can't quite measure a visual curve ;)
Fiddled a bit with the exposure offset and gamma correction in Photoshop. Backlighting through the tall glass salt and pepper grinders offer a few little bokeh balls.

Toledo Edison loco No. 3 at the coal dumper, 4-4-61. Acme Generating Station, Toledo, Ohio. The railway had an unusual "side trolley" arrangement (wire offset completely to one side) to provide clearance for loading hopper cars. The last portion of the facility was demolished in 2013.

Adjoining fields have offsetting curves created by pivot irrigation. I was fortunate to be there after mowing that followed the irrigation curves. The photo was taken from a hillside that overlooks Marsh Creek near McCammon, Idaho.

Something of a standard shot, but it was hard to ignore the reverse curves and offset positioning of the two semaphores signals. The presence of an endangered HST on a beautifully sunny day might have been an incentive too…..

Not sure if I like this composition ... it looked nice when I took it, but for some reason seems off balanced to my eye on the screen ... not level.
The 101 Locust Tower (Wells Fargo Building) in Downtown Denton, reaches into the cloudy North Texas sky.
Looking east over downtown Austin, this view shows The Independent, a 58-story, 688-foot skyscraper currently the tallest residential building in the United States west of the Mississippi River. Completed in 2019, the tower's cubed, offset shape was informed by the Capitol View Corridors, a set of legal restrictions in Austin that prevents any new high-rise structures in the downtown area from blocking views of the Texas State Capitol Building. Because of its multiple offset tiers, the 58-story building has been nicknamed the "Jenga Tower" and the "Tetris Tower."
Designed by Texas architect Brett Rhode of Rhode Partners, the tower features a central circulation core and four striking cantilevered sections enabled by exposed structural supports. The building contains 370 condominium units. The 9th floor contains amenities such as a heated pool, club room, playground, and dog park, while the 34th floor contains a fitness center, yoga deck, and outdoor lounge.

An orderly configuration of tinted corrugated fiberglas, weathered paint, partially blocked-in windows, rust stains, and asphalt, but not too orderly, which might be a bit boring, even if somewhat more satisfying. I meditated for a while on the shapes and patterns of the gray cinderblock filling in the bottom half of the windows, like pieces of a puzzle that don't fit. I can also zone out on the white area with its various crack patters, stains, and worn-down spots.
Different angle to my usual spot, which is where I started last night for sunset. Moved to my usual spot for the main event as I cannot launch my drone from here but quite a pleasing comp of this lovely cityscape, which I never tire of shooting.
These square tiles are on a low wall enclosing a public seating area overlooking the sea at Dawlish. Each textured tile is set at a slightly different angle with respect to its neighbours giving an interesting decorative effect.
