A side-by-side decorated in lights for Christmas make its way down a snowy Sheridan Avenue during the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Cody, Wyoming.
After a wild night of rain, thunder, lightning, and hail ... today turned out to be quite a glorious day. It reminded me of a pretty perfect day of its own right that we spent in the wilderness surrounding Moab, UT in the winter.
This day, like the others we spent with Rick Louie (of Rick Louie Photography - off-road adventures), was spectacular in both the weather and the scenery. There's something really special about the red rock formations against the blue sky with gorgeous clouds stretched thinly across it. Add theseclusion that comes with the territory when off-roading and it was an adventure luring us deeper into the wild and unknown. Such a fantastic day, full of oohs and ahhs, and of course, a healthy dose of laughter!
Thinking about how I need to get back to that area, which is just a quick drive from me ... especially with the lure of the stars and milky way while photographing in the still of the night. :-)
Thanks so much for stopping by to view and I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend.

A army style vehicle, decorated in Christmas lights, drives along Sheridan Avenue during the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Cody, Wyoming. This is hat you use when a side-by-side isn’t big enough.

We spent the weekend at Balls, a big experimental rocket launch event in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada - the same place where Burning Man takes place. We were quite busy in daytime preparing and launching rockets. It's time for leisure after 6pm. We witnessed a clean sunset, then we went to take a hot bath in one of the hots springs adjacent to the playa (dry lakebed). This place is special, sometimes you feel like being on a different planet, like on Mars.
I processed a photographic, and a balanced HDR photo from two RAW exposures, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

A couple greet me as they drive their UTV down Sheridan Avenue during the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Cody, Wyoming.

This detail photo says enough about the entire condition of the car, more photos will follow later. However, this off-road vehicle is not somewhere in a jungle, but in the backyard of a terraced house in Hoorn Kersenboogerd. With an expired MOT from 2001, I suspect that it has been there for many years.
