My unusually organized desk. I took this on a Friday so I had plenty of time to organize beforehand. I will take another picture this week, maybe on a Wednesday when things are crazy at work.
I've added tons of notes for the curious types and also because i love notes on pictures. :)
I set up the mini-office area for the hubby in our spare room. I set up the PC desk (took about an hour) and moved the desktop into this room. He picked the desk color, even though I wanted birch. At least we don't have to argue about the printer---it's all his.

Those glue-on pilaster decorations on the first floor probably looked pretty nice when they were new.

Here is where Is the workspace for jofalltrades.com. It's a pretty comfortable space. Took years of blood, sweat and tears to get this office. But I finally have 2/3 of it done :)

Day 352
31 Horror movies rated and reviewed (using the A-F grading system):
1. Night of the Living Dead (1968): Not bad. Kinda long a drawn out. Not scary, but worthy of a watch. And I totally called the ending.
Final Grade: C
2. Unrest (2006): One of the After Dark films...a little cheesy, but overall it was ok.
Final Grade: C
3. House on Haunted Hill (1959): Pretty good. Not super scary or anything, but watchable.
Final Grade: B
4. Black Christmas (1974): Pretty good. But once again, not super scary. You never find out who the person was or why they were doing it.
Final Grade: B
5. Black Christmas (2006): Went a little further than original by being more graphic and giving a back story on the killer.
Final Grade: C+
6. Night of the Demons (1988): Totally cheesy and totally '80s. It was...ok.
Final Grade: C-
7. Dawn of the Dead (1978): Ok, I know this is a classic and everything, but it sucked. It was boring, uneventful, and LONG. The remake was a million times better.
Final Grade: F...yes, that's right.
8. 1408 (2007): I liked the first half, then it just started to lose my interest. There were a few scary parts. I didn't like the ending very much, but apparently I saw a different ending than the one shown in theaters.
Final Grade: C+
9. Quarantine (2008): Not bad. A few unsettling parts. I liked it.
Final Grade: B+
10. The Haunting in Connecticut (2009): This one was ok. A few kinda scary moments.
Final Grade: C+
11. My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009): If it weren't for the 3D, I probably never would've watched it. The story itself is totally stupid. As for the 3D, well, there really wasn't any. It could've just been a cheap Blockbuster glasses though.
Final Grade: D
12. Trick 'r Treat (2008): Good little Halloween flick. Some scary parts...and it makes you think twice about Halloween rituals! Worth watching.
Final Grade: A
13. The Ruins (2008): Kind of a weird "killer," but the movie gives you that lost hope feeling.
Final Grade: C+
14. Turistas (2006): Not bad, but not that great. It's ok.
Final Grade: C-
15. Session 9 (2001): God this movie is BORING. It's long and drawn out...90% of the movie dialogue. How is that supposed to be scary? Don't watch this one.
Final Grade: F
16. Death Tunnel (2005): Ok, this one has bad reviews, and I think I know why. The acting was AWFUL. But if you can ignore that, the movie does have some scary parts to it.
Final Grade: C-
17. Saw II (2005): Not nearly as good as the first one. These sequels just aren't worth watching.
Final Grade: D-
18. Saw III (2006): Same as Saw II.
19. Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead (2008): Ok, I liked the first one, but this one was trying a little too hard and just didn't have the budget or the actors.
Final Grade: C
20. Wrond Turn 2: Dead End (2007): Ok, this one starts out really cheesy, like any other cheaply made sequel, but it picks up from there and becomes decent.
Final Grade: C
21. 13 Ghosts (1960): Totally cheesy and not scary, but entertaining I guess.
Final Grade: C+
22. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006): Basically just like the orginal and remake, but with some back story. Worth watching if you're a fan.
Final Grade: A
23. Catacombs (2007): This movie really could be told in about 15 mins. There is about an hour of Shannyn Sossamon running around in the dark. The ending is surprising, but once again, I called it within the first half hour of the movie.
Final Grade: C-
24. The Return of the Living Dead (1985): Ok, this one is also cheesy and really '80s, but it's entertaining.
Final Grade: C+
25. The Amityville Horror (1979): Pretty uneventful and not scary.
Final Grade: D
26. The Last House on the Left (2009): Not scary, but really suspensful.
Final Grade: B+
27. Friday the 13th (2009): Not a bad sequel. And it has one of the dumbest lines I've ever heard in a movie. If you watch it, you'll figure it out.
Final Grade: B
28. Sleepaway Camp (1983): BAD BAD BAD...stay away from this one. The plot barely exists, and the killings are dumb. Not even close to being scary. The only horror was how bad it was. The only reason I kept watching was for the shocking, scary, surprise ending. But it wasn't any of that. Just dumb and confusing. It's not even worthy of a F. Can I give it an E? Screw it.
Final Grade: Z-
29. Ginger Snaps (2000): Pretty good for a werewolf movie.
Final Grade: A
30. Zombieland (2009): Good. Go watch it.
Final Grade: A
31. Tamara (2005): Meh. It tries too hard and isn't all that great.
Final Grade: D
I'm trying to get more focused, but Lord is that difficult! Right now my office consists of my laptop and my couch (or bed depending on how lazy I am). I doubt it's going to work, but I feel like if I buy a desk, and create a little space for me I will get more motivated. We'll see. Right now, this is what my Office Space consists of. No TPS reports here folks...
An angle shot of the corner mini-office space. I could've used the spare bedroom for this, but decided to leave it in the large living room.
Our old computer desk was damaged during the overseas move.

The building is a former industrial building which was core renovated some 5 years ago. We moved here 2 month ago, so not everything is quite finished. But you get an idea ;-)
It is nearby our former location, which was in the media harbour with the famous buildings of Frank O'Gehry. Although the view from the old office was quite nice, the new one offers much more space and a loft style interior.
Feel free to stop by, when you are in Düsseldorf.
We've expanded our Locker Room today by adding two more desks where we hope to have interns at very shortly.

Happy National VCR Day
I haven't watched a video tape with a VCR in many years, though I still have one in the equipment rack along with other electronic devices that are no longer in use. I also haven't seen this movie in a while, though it frequently is referenced in conversation.
Built on the former site of the 300 room Grand Hotel which operated from 1910 - 1971, this multi storey building contains office space totalling 112,000 feet and has the claim of being the city's first air conditioned building. Sadly the fountain after which it was named has been paved over.
