Apologies it's been such a long time since I last posted! I have been so busy with college work I haven't had a free moment. Hope everyone likes today's look, I feel a bit rusty... xxx

These little trees seemingly growing from concrete without any soil.

I was at one of our waste water treatment plants in Bellville couple days ago. The water you see above is one of the many purification tanks. It's amazing how much work and resources are needed to treat the waste we generate and keep our lakes and environment clean.

eternal love of odds and green!

Ferguson Cabin, constructed about 150 years ago. Purchase Knob area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. NC.

Plans were to photograph the Perseid meteor shower with the cabin in the foreground. I knew there were several solar outbursts in recent days but didn't expect to see aurora this far south (I even looked at the aurora forecast that morning). So this was a most welcome surprise! This would not have been my first choice in locations had I known, but having both clear skies that evening and an aurora making a brief appearance during the peak of the Perseid meteor shower are pretty improbable odds!

More beautifully lit Spanish moss (which is neither Spanish nor moss).

cool as to how these form on the inside of pine tree's...looking at it closely it's probably how branches form from the core...some make it out and others stop growing....this tree just happened to be cut down in just the right place to show it

AKA Eyes bigger than my belly. Got a bit carried away when prepping. The only seasoning was a bit of salt and lots of Black Pepper. Mick ate my leftovers as well as all his own dinner.

It was delicious.

My friend and I went on a photo walk and visited the Mill No. 5 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Built in 1873, the building has been repurposed and has lots of interesting unique, vintage, and retro stores.

Calke Abbey, Debyshire

Taken from the National Trust website :-

"A time capsule

Calke Abbey is the house where time stood still – vividly portraying a period in the twentieth century when many country houses did not survive to tell their story.

Rather than restoring Calke to its former glory, we've undertaken necessary repairs to halt the decay of the house and its collections. As you wander through the mansion, you'll discover adandoned rooms, peeling wallpaper and a vast collection of strange and unique objects – presented exactly as we found them."
