The Woodward Ave Presbyterian Church in Detroit opened in 1911. The facility, designed in an English Gothic style, also contained classrooms for Sunday school in the rear. The church closed in 1993 and has been abandoned ever since.

The Octagon Chapel, a Unitarian Chapel in Colegate in Norwich, Norfolk, is a Grade II listed building. Completed in 1756 by the architect Thomas Ivory, it is perfectly octagonal, and a fine example of English Neo-Palladian architecture.

Originally built as a Presbyterian Chapel, the building now serves the Unitarian community. Unitarians have no dogma or creed, and take inspiration from all religious teachings, as well as from science and the arts.

After admiring everything for quite a while the Aunties threw themselves into their husbands’ arms.

They started to almost race in praising their hubbies, who now in turn were confused but in a happy way. A woman’s mind: the greatest mystery of all, they probably thought in that moment.

-How could you know that an octagonal greenhouse has always been my dream? Afro Auntie sighed with delight. - And how I’ve missed a greenhouse ever since we moved away from Villa Idler!

- I had no idea you are such awfully good with your hands, Euro Auntie whispered in a voice that could melt an iceberg.

-Don’t know about you, but I’m curious to find out if you two are as good bartenders as greenhouse builders, Manna said audibly just when the atmosphere was about to get too syrupy and grabbed one of those fresh-looking drinks from the table. That made Euro Auntie remember recent dubious turns.

- What was that merrymaking yesterday evening about? She asked with a demanding voice.

-And what was Miss Mezereon doing here so long and so late? Did she gave you a private belly dance show? Afro Auntie was insisting answers.

- Aah that!! We just wanted to have a small roofing celebration before we’d hand out the authority of this greenhouse to you two, Euro Uncle answered with laughter.

- And Ms Mezereon came to prepare that flower bed and plant those flowers outside in flower boxes- don’t you remember she is a qualified horticulturist? Afro Uncle continued.

Of course the Aunties knew that- they had used her garden consultation services years ago too- they were just so upset they only remembered her hobby. Besides- they really had no idea about a greenhouse, there hasn’t been any conversations related to that since they left Villa Idler years ago. But the Uncles’ had noticed Aunties’ longing earlier this spring, as they bid their final farewell to Villa Idler and its beautiful greenhouse. That’s exactly when they got the idea of building a greenhouse.

-We wanted everything to be ready so that you two can just start to plant whatever you want in here, Euro Uncle clarified.

–Belly or any other dance was not even close, Afro Uncle continued (but he sounded a bit more disappointed that was meant.)

The Aunties were satisfied with the answers and happy and excited atmosphere returned.

The mosque was built in 2001, and was named after the renowned Chinese admiral Muhammad Cheng Hoo. Although a mosque, its external architecture and design resembles more of a chinese temple. This unison of two cultures, between Chinese and Islam, represents unity.

Last Sunday, January 16, 2022, Northeast Ohio got its deepest single-day snowfall in a more than few years... 10 - 20 inches, depending where you were. The little octagonal house in a neighbor's yard became even a bit more decorative.

Quartier Schützenstraße is an ensemble of buildings designed by the Italian architect Aldo Rossi in Berlin’s Mitte district. The complex contains four inner courtyards, including this octagonal one, and was built on a piece of fallow land of the Berlin Wall. It’s one of the most significant new buildings of Berlin’s post-reunification era.

The Octagon is the tallest building in Birmingham and is all residential. The flats will be rented out. I was lucky enough to be invited for the sunrise and the sunset as part of the "topping out" ceremony for the building. This view is one of many that I took. Seen during a two-day trip to Milan: looking up at the octagonal dome of the San Lorenzo.

A long vacant, it was empty in the 2008 Street View, building at the intersection of Main and Lake Streets in Liberty, New York. The second floor and sloping roof were added between October 2018 and September 2022. I'm thinking this may have originally been a car dealership.

The McElroy Octagon House, also known as the Colonial Dames Octagon House, is a historic octagonal house now located at 2645 Gough Street at Union Street in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of San Francisco, California. William C. McElroy built it in 1861 across the street from its present location. It was vacant and neglected in 1951 when the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America [1] in California bought it, moved it across the street and began its restoration. In 1971 it became San Francisco Landmark 17. It, the Feusier Octagon House and the Marine Exchange Lookout Station[2][3][4] at Land's End are the only three remaining octagon houses in the city.[5][6][7]

On February 23, 1972, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Armour-Stiner Octagon House has been beautifully restored to its 1870s appearance inside and out, Here it is on a grey day decorated for Christmas.
