Dino built the deckplanters and every year grows multicolored impatiens in them. From the nook window, you can see hummingbirds very close, poking into the flowers. The gap is there to permit a view of the red japanese maple area, way in the back in the quiet garden, while at the nook table.
The Octagon Earthworks, in Newark, Ohio, were constructed by the Hopewell people. They represent part of the largest earthen enclosure ever constructed.

The Hyde House (Octagon House). The house was moved here from Friendship. We particularly wanted to see this because Vicki's mother lived in the house when she was a girl.
The upstiars is not open to the public, but when they heard that we had a family connection to the house, they let us take a loo.
