we heard about a cool beach with a lagoon and some petroglyphs... alas, the road was blocked. the land owners put a lot of effort into keeping the locals away.
We stayed in a little cabin in Bonavista with an ocean view, this was the view both nights we were there as well as the morning we left. Great little cabin though and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Bonavista, NL, they were call Oceanview Cabins.
It was in and out all night, so thick that the boat could only go by radar, and I couldn't shoot on deck later

Prior to this trip, I had gone through thirty years of life without ever having seen an ocean. I'd seen the Gulf of Mexico dozens and dozens of times, but had never been east of Disney World or west of the Grand Canyon. This was my first view of the Pacific Ocean, slightly brightened so you the viewer can actually see where the ocean ends and the sky begins, a distinction I was unable to make in person. (This was a 69 second exposure.) As major life moments go, it was fairly anticlimatic. My ocean experience did, however, get better before the end of the week.

Sunset on our first day in California. This was taken from our amazing room at the Quality Inn & Suites Oceanview (34734 Pacific Coast Hwy, Capistrano Beach, CA 92624). We had an great room on the third floor with a perfect view of the Pacific Ocean and the sunset. This might be one of the best Choice Hotels I have stayed at! Great property - and a great view of the sun setting behind Catalina Island off into the distance. Taken on October 20, 2015 during our trip to the Fashion Royalty Convention in Southern California.
You'd think I'd know all there was to know about Ocean View by now, but I'm still finding surprises. And I love these trees, and the way they line the street.
