A few days ago I posted a photo of kayak paddling out towards the sun and a tug boat with the caption "If you reading this you're alive you're breathing you're lucky. Have a smashing Friday and weekend 😊".
Many of you loved that photo; it told a story and had meaning.
The next day I was at North Beach and briefly met this gentleman (in photo), in his wheel chair, moving slowly along the promenade, soap and face cloth packed, towards the cold showers to bath.
I snapped (happily) some photos and then went to greet him. I was expecting a smiling chap with "only" no use of his legs. Shock awaited me when I found that, in addition to "no legs", he was riddled with disabilities all round. He could barely speak to me.
This got me thinking... and I don't know the real answer...
Do our taxes, Lotto funds, city rates and so on get used efficiently by the relevant authorities to help needy persons?
Please don't answer hereunder, but kindly do question the "right" persons one on one or in the appropriate forum if you're in a position to do so.
Bamboo Forest between mile marker 6 and 7 on the Hana Highway. There are many routes through the bamboo made by trespassing hikers. They all need to cross this ditch though. Someone thoughtfully put a plank across the ditch so we wouldn't have to risk leaping to a muddy end.
Gov. Inslee visits the international Energy Agency in Paris on Tuesday, June 20 for a briefing on the advancements and the challenges that remain to transition energy grids around the world away from dirty fossil fuels. Bottom line: Demand for renewable energy is soaring but state and national governments have to streamline regulations, meet new demands on our electrical grid, and address supply chain issues to realize the future we want for our economy and the planet.
After the briefing, IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol hosted Gov. Inslee for further discussion about the progress and the obstacles that remain for achieving all renewable energy in the U.S. Washington has some of the nation’s best policies for cutting this path, and we’re ready to help others tread a path just as ambitious. It is necessary for our future.
