Taken at the beautifully surreal Obsidia which describes itself as "a remote and enigmatic place, suspended between the present and the unknown, somewhere between tranquility and unease, where reality seems to dissolve"

I used the shared environment here though I did change the colour of the sun. It took me about thirty minutes to get the shot (had to wear the tiger since the location is no-res) and then a further two and a half hours to paint the tigers' shadow. Not my first time doing something like this but it's been a long time so at least half that was just figuring out how to do it again. Totally worth it :)

At first glance, you'll think you landed in another virtual world, possibly another planet.

Nero maxes out the nearly 1/4 sim and makes it feel like an entire world in a way that I've never seen before. This photo is of Nero's artwork in her gallery, but the entire build is a work of art.

All the fine touches, the windlight, the subtle choices of decor, and the use of texture to create depth and atmosphere are reminiscent of Bryn Oh, but also entirely unique.

I spent an afternoon with a friend there, camming around, taking photos from different angles and exploring nearly every item and its creator.

I hardly ever post a recommendation to my Flickr account, but if you want an inspiring look at the creativity that is possible in SL, then take a trip to Obsidia and enjoy!

Until now, I’ve lived my interests and experiences in Second Life within a very small circle of close friends. After more than 17 years, I finally feel the desire to share something with the rest of the world.

OBSIDIA is the latest of my visions brought to life in Second Life, a space open to anyone who wishes to experience it. It’s a remote and enigmatic place, suspended between the present and the unknown, somewhere between tranquility and unease, where reality seems to dissolve. It may feel like an escape from everything, yet there is always a lingering sense that something more awaits, something yet to be discovered.

Take your time to explore and enjoy its different areas, designed for private relaxation, contemplation, or intimacy. I also invite you to visit the open gallery overlooking the ocean, where you will find my latest art project “Broken”.
