Joan Miro, stuffed parrot on wood perch, stuffed silk stocking with velvet garter and doll's paper shoe suspended in hollow wood frame, derby hat, hanging cork ball, celluloid fish and engraved map, 1936.

Some of my contributions to the Object Sky pool. I've noticed that more often not these photos are dark and grey, or at least have very strong or dominant shadow elements. I thought I'd see if I could muster up 36 more bright and colourful ones. A couple of these are borderline, but I was impatient. :-)

P.S. Rarely (perhaps never before?) have I done this, but I altered one (only one!) of the originals for use in this mosaic. Just some colour adjustment, which is ironic because the original actually earned a compliment on its colours ... but it didn't look good when presented among the rest of these.

Aiming to make art more democratic and affordable, the {X}posé Retrograde Series by Tanya Palta is a visual vocabulary of elements that crackle with light, shadow, and texture.

Decisively Retrograde, the multi-exposure series explores the boundaries between representation and abstraction to adapt to a contemporary aesthetic.

Inspired by the greats like Warhol, Dali and even Hirst, {X}posé experiments with numerous digital techniques to form a narrative that juxtaposes surrealism with realism.

Tanya Palta photographs everyday objects, architecture and landscapes in her own inimitable style to create a visual experience that is uniquely artistic and multifarious.

I tried to get a better glint in the necklace with a reflector, but as as it's a self-timer jobby with me jumping from the viewfinder to the other side of the lense, it wasn't really possible! And I've been told it looks like a mans hand or a foot on my shoulder! So coulda done without that!

Queer objects in a corner, nothing very obviously glamorous about them, just that old rustic feel which makes them peculiarly interesting

Open Cluster M47 (also known as Messier Object 47 or NGC 2422) is an open cluster in the constellation Puppis. It was discovered by Giovanni Batista Hodierna before 1654 and independently discovered by Charles Messier on February 19, 1771. M47 is at a distance of about 1,600 light-years from Earth with an estimated age of about 78 million years. There are about 50 stars in this cluster, the brightest one being of magnitude +5.7.
