Incoming graduate students pursuing MPH, MS, or PhD degrees participated in the Graduate Student Oath Ceremony on Friday, August 21 in the University Conference Center.
During this ceremony, first-year graduate students took an oath to uphold the values of integrity, professionalism and scholarship throughout their academic careers. This year’s keynote address was given by Sarah Bronson, Ph.D., director, Research Development, and director, Graduate Core Curriculum.
Symbolic of their initiation into the community of biomedical scientists, first-year PhD students received white lab coats, and master's students received a gift.
Prompted by an article in Science magazine, a group of College of Medicine graduate students spent a year developing an oath that reflected Penn State values. This is the seventh year for the Graduate Student Oath Ceremony.

أدت دفعة جديدة من الدبلوماسيين الجدد اليوم اليمين القانونية أمام سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي وذلك بديوان عام الوزارة في أبوظبي.
حضر مراسم أداء القسم القانوني .. معالي الدكتور سلطان بن أحمد الجابر وزير دولة ومعالي أحمد الصايغ وزير دولة ومعالي الدكتور عبيد الحيري الكتبي مساعد وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي للشؤون العسكرية والأمنية وسعادة أحمد ساري المزروعي وكيل وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي وسعادة يعقوب يوسف الحوسني مساعد وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي لشؤون المنظمات الدولية وسعادة سلطان محمد الشامسي مساعد وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي لشؤون التنمية الدولية وعدد من مدراء الإدارات بالوزارة وعائلات الدبلوماسيين الجدد.
ورحب سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان عقب مراسم أداء اليمين القانونية بالدبلوماسيين الجدد البالغ عددهم 46 شابا وشابة معربا عن سعادته بلقائهم واعتزازه بالتحاقهم بالعمل بوزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي.
وأشار سموه إلى أهمية أن يشكل "عام التسامح" بما يحمله من قيم ومعان سامية مرتكزا للمسيرة المهنية للدبلوماسيين الجدد ويستلهمون منه منهاج عمل لأداء دورهم الهام في ترسيخ جسور التعاون والإخاء والمحبة بين دولة الإمارات ودول العالم الصديقة وكذلك تعزيز الدور الهام الذي تلعبه الدولة في "عام التسامح" باعتبارها عاصمة عالمية للتسامح.
وأكد سموه حرص وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي على استيعاب أبناء الوطن الأكفاء والاستثمار في تطوير قدراتهم وإطلاق طاقاتهم بما يعزز مسيرة التنمية المستدامة للدولة موضحا أن المستقبل الذي ينتظر الدبلوماسيين حافل بالمسؤوليات الجسام والعمل ما يتطلب جهودا إضافية ومتواصلة لخدمة الوطن سواء أثناء عملهم داخل الدولة أو خارجها.
ودعا سموه الدبلوماسيين الجدد إلى التمسك بمبادئ رئيسية أثناء أداء خدمتهم وعلى رأسها حب الوطن والولاء لقيادته الرشيدة والحرص على التطور الوظيفي والذي يكون من خلال التميز والابتكار في أداء العمل وتقديم الخدمات المتكاملة للمواطنين مؤكدا على أهمية أن يتحلى كل موظف بالطموح والرغبة في العمل بروح الفريق والعمل الجماعي وتقديم كل ما هو جديد ومبتكر بما يسهم في تعزيز بيئة العمل وتجسيد أهداف الدبلوماسية الإماراتية.
من جانبهم أعرب الدبلوماسيون الجدد عن سعادتهم بالتحاقهم بوزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي مؤكدين أنهم سيبذلون قصارى جهدهم من أجل أن يكونوا عند حسن ظن سموه بهم وأن يكونوا على قدر المسؤولية التي ستناط بهم خدمة للوطن في المحافل الدولية.
