Hello you lovely people! ♡
I feel incredibly honored to blog about Maru Kado, Dura and Fakeicon today. First of all, I want to give a huge "THANK YOU!" to u10 for passing me his animesh Oni! They're amaziingggg! I had so much fun playing around with these. I am truly amazed by his work and very much looking forward to his next release. Big time fan o3o/
Thank you, Chiaki for passing me the new release of the Dura hair! She is so kind and talented. As always she did an amazing job with the new hair that was inspired by Andrej Pejic. Every time I think "Wow, it can't get any better than this. This is my favorite hair!" suddenly - BOOM - a new Dura hair appears and it's even more amazing than the previous release! How you do that Chikai sensei?!
Also I want to thank Titzuki for being an overall amazing person and the king of fabulousness (yes, that's totally a word) who is so kind and fun to talk with! I love your new shirt! The texture options are amazing! Dayuuum, this rocks!
Last but not least: Thank you Lucien, for taking part in this picture and for bearing with me! It means a lot to me :) Thank you for staying with me all that time, being patient with me and supporting me all along. It was so much fun to take this picture with you and I really enjoyed editing your floofy hair, making it all FLOOF! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° You are such a sweet, kind, understanding, amazing and kawaii person. Never forget that o/ Be proud of yourself. I am really bad at saying cute things but ... I really dislike hugs but I'd hug you any time! (.❛ ᴗ ❛.) ♡
And this one is for you: Thank you for looking at my picture ♡

Don't wait for good things to come your way. Go out there and grab any chance whenever you see one. Get those lemons together with some salt and tequila and enjoy it with your friends - or maybe make lemonade out of it instead or bake a lemon cake. Use it to make something good! Make a change. Your life is in your own hands. If you fall, don't just lay down and wait for someone to lend you a hand. Get up and keep walking your path! You are strong, you are amazing and talented. Be bold, because you are beautiful on the inside and outside. You hold your fate in your own hands. We are all like carbon. Carbon is everywhere. Sometimes you might think that it's nothing special but add pressure and heat and it'll turn into a Diamond.
~

Remains of the vault of the Church of San Martín de Tours in the town of Belchite.
Belchite is a town in the province of Zaragoza, autonomous region of Aragon, Spain.
At the end of the bloody Spanish civil war (1936-1939), which was the prologue to the Second World War, it became a symbol of the cruelty of war by order of General Franco.
The bloody fighting that took place here, house by house, with several changes of hands throughout the war, had a more political than strategic purpose, with a great cost of human lives and military resources.
General Franco's decision to turn it into a symbol of the cruelty of war, led to the order not to restore the damaged city and to build a "new" city.
But the truth is that the real damage, which is the cause of the current state of the "old" city, was caused from 1964, when the tenants of the last inhabited houses moved to the new Belchite.
From that moment on, the ruins of the houses, completely unprotected, were looted to take recyclable materials, as well as scrap metal, pipes, cables...
The lack of materials that provided support for the old buildings caused collapses.
The inclement weather, the lack of respect of the people in general and the lack of interest of the national authorities to at least preserve what exists, lead us to the current state.
In reality, the fighting during the war had only caused 30% of the damage.
Restoration campaigns are being carried out on the most significant buildings that are still standing.
The entire area is now fenced and protected and visits can only be guided, which are coordinated by the local authority.
The concept of a "Theme Park" came too late.
This ruined church of Saint Martin of Tours was used as a hospital, but was systematically bombed when word spread that weapons and ammunition were stored there.
Given the state of this ruined city, many films and documentaries have been shot, including "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" directed by Terry Gilliam (1988) and "Pan's Labyrinth" directed by Guillermo del Toro (2005). (Source: Wikipedia)
(Fuente: Wikipedia)

Darjeeling Mall has its Own Charm
The Chowrasta or Mall is an open space in the centre of town, lined with small stores, selling souvenirs, woollens, packets of tea, food items, and lots more. The Mall Road is a mountain walkway the British families once used for leisure strolls to enjoy the sheer serenity and the best views that Darjeeling has to offer.
Walk upto the Mall , walk around or just sit there to lay back and enjoy the chill in the weather amidst the flow of tourists and local residents . Enjoying performances of in cultural/musical shows at the open air stage is a big treat for every one that happens almost every evening.

How many millions of photos have been taken of these Abu Simbel temples?
Yet it continues to fascinate us every time we go. And I've been there three times.
It was built by the powerful Pharaoh Ramses II around 1274 BC to celebrate his supposed victory in the Battle of Kadesh over the Hittites, although the Hittites also claim they were the ones who won.
The temples are dedicated to the worship of the great deities of Ancient Egypt: Amun, Ra, and Ptah, as well as Ramses II, since the pharaohs were considered gods.
The four statues that dominate the façade represent Pharaoh Ramses II himself at different ages.
The second from the left collapsed in an earthquake.
They are about 20 meters (65 feet) tall.
A series of solar phenomena occur within the temple 61 days before and after the winter solstice, due to the monument's original alignment.
The rise in the Nile River level due to the construction of the Aswan Dam jeopardized the survival of several temples in the Nubian region, upstream of the dam.
The rescue of the Abu Simbel temples began in 1964 by a multinational team of archaeologists, engineers, and heavy equipment operators working together under the banner of UNESCO.
In total, it cost about $40 million at the time ($336 million adjusting for inflation in 2020).
Between 1964 and 1968, the entire site was carefully cut into large blocks (averaging 20 tons and weighing a maximum of 30 tons each), dismantled, lifted, and reassembled at a new location 65 meters higher and 200 meters farther from the river, in one of the greatest archaeological engineering challenges in history. ABU SIMBEL, 2010
Porthgwarra is a relatively unknown Cornish Cove, largely owned by Lord St Levan (of St. Michael’s Mount). It is located just under 3 miles southeast of Land’s End. Once a thriving fishing cove, it now enjoys a peaceful existence surrounded by local wildlife.
Porthgwarra Beach is a popular spot for birdwatching, with a variety of seabirds and raptors visible from the cliffs. Dolphins or seals can sometimes be seen in the sea too. At low tide there is a very small beach, with an array of interesting rock pools and caves. Swimming is relatively safe within the confines of the Cove.
One of Porthgwarra's most interesting features is the cave running through part of the cliff; there is a rope to hang on to as it is treacherously slippery. Sometimes in the evening, bats may be seen flying in and out of the cave.
Porthgwarra Beach has a rich history, and visitors can explore the cove's network of tunnels which were once used for smuggling. There are also lots of reminders of Porthgwarra's fishing heritage, although today only one boat regularly works crab pots from there. However, its appearance in the hit TV series, Poldark, has gone some way to preserving memories of the harsh realities of fishing for pilchards in the eighteenth century.

Serco-Northlink operated ferry (owned by Macbraynes/Scottish government) arriving through Hoy Sound, passing Hoy High Lighthouse on the island of Graemsay filmed from the point of Ness Stromness as she enters Stromness harbour.
At 3.16 the Hamnavoe sounds the letter N -. on her horn as she enters Stromness, this is an old tradition which goes back to the North of Scotland Orkney & Shetland, Steam Navigation Company who were the first to to sound the N -. on their ships horn as they approached harbour and with Northlink being the modern day operator of the route, they decided to restart the old tradition.
While few people realize it, the ARR does own trackage outside the Last Frontier. Not much though!
The ARR owns the barge slip on Harbor Island in Seattle that they use as their interchange point to the UP and BNSF and the greater North American rail network. The ownership is actually 50/50 with Seaspan Corp (a Washington Group company) although Seaspan has never used the slip. Over time ARR’s ownership stake gradually rises since they presently pay for all maintenance and upkeep on the structure. ARR’s trackage ends adjacent the nose of the unit (hence the ARR logo on the sign) meaning the railroad owns about one car length on solid ground.
UP Seattle based yard crew YSE51R is seen here beginning the process of stripping the weekly barge that has arrived from the 49th State. Three barges owned and operated by Alaska Railbelt Marine (a member of the Lynden family of companies) are constantly cycling between Seattle and Whittier, AK carrying railcars on 8 tracks and containers stacked three high in the racks above. They are truly marvels of modern logistics!
Since the ARR owns no yard trackage in Seattle and has no locomotives of its own with which to switch the barge, the UP provides this service since it is the railroad that owns the connecting rails on Harbor Island. At the time this yard assignment was normally just a two man RCL crew, but on barge days an engineer was called and the barge is worked by a conventional three man crew.
In this view the UP crew has reached in with their handle (in order to keep the locomotive off the slip itself) consisting of a covered hopper and three old cabooses to begin pulling cars off the southbound ARMS voyage 1023 (the 23rd sailing of 2010). This particular barge is the Fairbanks Provider built by Gunderson in 2001 it is 420 ft long and 100 ft wide with 3190 linear feet of track on the deck and a dead weight of 15,300 tons.

To quote John Hiatt from his song Missing Pieces:
"I spent all day looking at a leaf/
I know my time here is brief."
This little Ball Dahlia with its honeycomb of tightly rolled petals could contain worlds.
My favorite from the incredible Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, and picking one favorite is almost impossible!
Now owned by the Town of Orford and managed by the Upper Valley Land Trust, this lovely piece of land nestles below the western flank of New Hampshire's White Mountains. Not so long ago it was the Billy Brown Farm...home to a hermit farmer, a horse, a cow and a dog. All gone. But a few old-timers hereabouts remember Billy with affection....and fortunately his barn has been stabilized and is protected from falling down. In the summer, it is a good place to find a rock to sit on and listen to the bobolinks and ravens.

One day, we'll be on the shelf in someone's mind. Then not even that !!
Couldn't believe it when the female Common Kingfisher (on the left) who had just caught a small Roach, was joined on the perch by her mate, also with a fish!
He didn't quite know what to do and approached offering the fish to her, which had already been turned round, so she could swallow it head first.
In the end she backed up, swallowed hers and then took his as well. In the good times they must be able to almost eat their own body weight in a day!
I have never seen this happen before, but because there are so many fish in the lake at the moment the odds were probably a bit higher. In previous years I have seen the Kingfishers struggle to survive on much less appetising fare of Sticklebacks, shrimps and dragonfly larvae.
Unfortunately couldn't get them both in focus from my viewpoint and didn't want to risk focusing on the middle of the perch, maybe if I had increased the ISO and used a smaller aperture I might have got closer.
This particular perch is very low to the water (about a foot and a half above) so with them facing directly into the sun the water below was acting as a huge reflecting mirror. This made the kingfishers look very green. Their feathers produce colour as a result of their structure rather than pigment - which must have something to do with it?
Taken in Suffolk.

I'd forgotten the time love didn't frighten me
Being careful with my trust
Now we're together you keep reminding me
It's not you, it's not me, it's us
If you never try, you'll never know
Life ain't as easy as the sayings go
It ain't always perfect, but with you it is
I'm not sure if it's worth it
But I could get used to this
The way we talk and all you give

After owning this camera for over a year, I finally began to figure out how to use the feature I bought it for, what Nikon calls focus shift shooting. (It enables the camera to automatically take a number of images, each focused slightly further from the camera, so they can be stacked - here in HeliconFocus software - with the result showing everything in focus.)
This image is the product of twenty images, and it will reward very close examination. I hope you enjoy this first of my focus stacking images half as much as I do, as I find it very exciting to begin to master an important new skill.
Ogni volta che si perdeva,
guardava le stelle
e prendeva coraggio.
Massimo Gramellini
Quello è il mio Spazio, my own Space.

Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.
Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable.

The winter of 2013-2014 is one to remember, as not a single iceday is recorded, until today. Only one week with frosty nights and that's all for the cold this winter. But, because of these high temperatures, the nature is very green and on a sunny day like today all colours come together nicely.
This is windmill Bonrepas, on just 1 kilometer from my own house. Such a nice place really close to home is wonderful, and many photos on my photostream are from this mill. Today I walked through a grassland to the other side of the river Vlist. Normally I'm standing on the road across the water. But the Vlist in front of the mill worked out well this time I think.

The bears come down to the shore on the edge of Cook's Inlet to find dead fish washed up on the shore to eat. They are followed around by seagulls trying to snatch bits of fish for their own meal. These are fairly large birds when you compare their size to the big bear in the image.
My very own little ferry after staking my claim on it, twice to be sure, if you look closely. I see I forgot to run any NR and it's a huge crop. Seriously just out playing with my 70-200E FL lens on a windy day. On the tripod here but with the ballhead loose and VR on. I have spent considerable time with the previous version and also with the very handy f4 version. It's safe to say this E version is a monster that will teach me things even on my most stubborn days. It might be front focusing just slightly here; time will tell.
Thank you for your warm and kind visits my friends. I appreciate you (yes you) a lot! :)

UP LDG51 rumbles past Gold Bar Canyon along the Colorado River near Moab, Utah after departing the potash mine on its return trip up the Cane Creek Branch. The branch was built in 1962 to serve the newly opened potash mine and plant, then owned by Texas Gulf Sulphur. The Rio Grande contracted Morrison-Knudsen to build the entire branch including the 1.3-mile-long tunnel through Bootlegger Canyon.
I wanted to have a blue version. :P
I think it turned out good.(Except for the photo.)
The photo has gone wrong,I couldn't get my camera focused on the helmet. I however may try it again later.
