Slightly frustrating that the bird was facing outwards slightly so the fish fell into shadow a little.

A large glass (roughly the size of a pint glass) decorative scented candle holder (sold with the candle already inside), this is a close up of the centre of a flower with petals extending outwards (photo area approx 1cm x 1cm) that's cut into the external surface of the holder (maybe 20 or so of these flowers cut into the surface of the holder altogether), barely noticable to the touch, surrounded by gold decorative flakes which appear to be printed on the inside surface of the glass. The shot was taken with the iPhone on the outside of the holder together with the torch which helped to highlight the flower shape. The holder itself is made from about 3mm thick glass. So the fine lines visible must be the original cut marks made in the glass surface.

Siena, Tuscany, Italy
The Palazzo Pubblico (town hall) is a palace in Siena, Tuscany, central Italy. Construction began in 1297 to serve as the Republic of Siena's government, which consisted of the Podestà and Council of Nine, the elected officials who performed executive functions (and judicial ones in secular matters).[1]
The outside of the structure is an example of Italian medieval architecture with Gothic influences. The lower story is stone while the upper crenellated stories are made of brick. The facade of the palace is curved slightly inwards (concave) to reflect the outwards curve (convex) of the Piazza del Campo, Siena's central square, of which the Palace is the focal point.

Spins,
Circles,
Loops,
Pulsates,
Resonates,
And
Repeats.
Circles

Of light,
Vibrate

While
Spiraling

It is a genus of about 125 species of tropical, succulent flowering plants in the family Crassulaceae, mainly native to Madagascar and tropical Africa. Kalanchoe was one of the first plants to be sent into space, sent on a resupply to the Soviet Salyut 1 space station in 1971. Most are shrubs or perennial herbaceous plants, but a few are annual or biennial. The largest, Kalanchoe beharensis from Madagascar, can reach 6 m tall, but most species are less than 1 m tall. Kalanchoes are characterized by opening their flowers by growing new cells on the inner surface of the petals to force them outwards, and on the outside of the petals to close them. Kalanchoe flowers are divided into 4 sections with 8 stamens. The petals are fused into a tube, in a similar way to some related genera such as Cotyledon. 66316

Tube-dwelling anemones or ceriantharians look very similar to sea anemones but belong to an entirely different class of anthozoans. They are solitary, living buried in soft sediments. Tube anemones live inside and can withdraw into tubes, which are composed of a fibrous material made from secreted mucus and threads of nematocyst-like organelles known as ptychocysts. Within the tubes of these ceriantharians, more than one polyp is present, which is an exceptional trait because species that create tube systems usually contain only one polyp per tube. Ceriantharians were formerly classified in the taxon Ceriantipatharia along with the black corals but have since been moved to their own class, Ceriantharia.
Ceriantharians have a crown of tentacles that are composed of two whorls of distinctly different sized tentacles. The outer whorl consists of large tentacles that extend outwards. These tentacles taper to points and are mostly used in food capture and defence. The smaller inner tentacles are held more erect than the larger lateral tentacles and are used for food manipulation and ingestion.
A few species such as Anactinia pelagica are pelagic and are not attached to the bottom; instead, they have a gas chamber within the pedal disc, allowing them to float upside down near the surface of the water.

Bhagavan spoke about turning inwards to face the Self. That is all that is needed. If we look outwards we become entangled with objects and we loose awareness of the Self shining within us. But when, by repeated practice, we gain the strength to keep our focus on the Self within, we become one with it and the darkness of Self ignorance vanishes. Then even though we continue to live in this false and unreal body, we abide in an ocean of bliss that never feeds or diminishes.

Bauhinia is a genus of more than 500 species of flowering plants in the subfamily Cercidoideae and tribe Bauhinieae, in the large flowering plant family Fabaceae, with a pantropical distribution. Many species are widely planted in the tropics as orchid trees, particularly in India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and southeastern China. Bauhinia trees typically reach a height of 6–12 m and their branches spread 3–6 m outwards. The lobed leaves usually are 10–15 cm across. The five-petaled flowers are 7.5–12.5 cm diameter, generally in shades of red, pink, purple, orange, or yellow, and are often fragrant. The tree begins flowering in late winter and often continues to flower into early summer. Depending on the species, Bauhinia flowers are usually in magenta, mauve, pink or white hues with crimson highlights. 44510
On the Dunes - Donald Fagen

Drive along the sea
far from the city's twitch and smoke
To a misty beach
That's where my life became a joke
On the dunes
On the dunes
(Became a joke on the dunes)
Where rents are high
and seabirds cry
On the dunes
As you spoke you must have known
it was a kind of homicide
I stood and watched my happiness
drift outwards with the tide
On the dunes
On the dunes
(Homicide on the dunes)
It wasn't fair
It's brutal there
On the dunes
Pretty boats
sweeping along the shore
in the faltering light
Pretty women
with their lovers by their side
It's like an awful dream
I have most every night
In the summer all the swells
join in the search for sun and sand
For me it's just a joyless place
where this loneliness began
On the dunes
On the dunes
(Loneliness on the dunes)
I'm pretty tough
but the wind is rough
On the dunes

The Cappuccino hybrid has rustic orange petals that form a halo around rich, dark brown centers. The single row of petals radiates color outward from the center, first with what appears to be a lighted halo around the warm brown eye, and then rustic orange fading outwards to yummy butterscotch on pollenless blossoms growing up to 6-inches in diameter.

Chicken of the woods, growing across the width of a rotting and split trunk of an old willow tree. Found near to the confluence of the Rivers Dove and Churnet between Rocester and Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.
This wasn't an easy shot as this section was lying horizontally in a jungle of nettles. I've been stung so many times by nettles that they don't seem to bother me now!
It's a very large 'chicken' growing outwards from beneath the bark and measuring over 4 feet in width (1.21 metres). This is one of two growing on this willow tree.
And no, I didn't take it home for supper! I prefer to leave fungi for someone else to see and enjoy, they're so beautiful :)

Photos of the sun behind a waterfall usually look very different then this one and where often made in countries far away. The photographer is standing in a cave ore pressing himself at the rocks shooting outwards. No matter how terrific these shots are, they are not even coming close to the spectacle I could whitness here on mt. Gohrisch in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. A giant waterfall is bursting out of the sky while the sun is setting right behind. They should try that in Iceland for us Saxons to imitate.

Oktober 1988. (Quelle: www.u-bahn-muenchen.de)
The Munich platform Böhmerwaldplatz, located in a curve, is equipped with a row of columns in the middle of the platform. These columns are covered with green enamelled metal sheets, which are drawn outwards in a tree shape in the upper area, reminiscent of the Bohemian Forest which gives the building its name. This "row of trees" spans almost the entire platform area. The walls are clad in light blue metal panels, which provide a stark contrast to the bright green. The ceilings are left in exposed concrete, they are just painted in the same shade of blue as the wall panels. The opening was on 27. October 1988. (Source: www.u-bahn-muenchen.de)
NGC2359 is an emission nebula in the Canis Major constellation, around 12000 light years from earth.
While the overall colours in the area are a fairly common sight for these type of targets (the usual emissions), the thing that stands out is the peculiar shape of the central structure (often referred to as Thor's Helmet, since with a bit of imagination it sort of looks like it). So what's going on there?
The culprit here is a so called "Wolf-Rayet" star in the center of the nebula. This is a massive star that's currently in the last stages of its life (on the edge of going supernova). What happens is that stars at that stage are essentially a delicate balancing act, with gravity pulling inwards and radiation pressure (coming from the nuclear fusion in the star's core) pushing outwards. This causes these stars to pulsate (contracting or expanding as one or the other temporarily gets the upper hand). These pulsations provide a mechanism for stellar material in the outer layers of the star (which is barely being held on to to being with) to get ejected out into space in what we call stellar wind. The effect of this stellar wind is what's shaping the nebula here.

Bobwhite quail are a popular game bird in the United States. In 1970 an estimated 35 million of them were shot. In the southeastern US these tiny birds were instrumental in the preservation of some of the best examples of old growth high pine.

Females lay large clutches of up to 14 eggs, which hatch after 23 days. The precocial young are about the size of a quarter coin, and feed largely on insects. The chicks double their weight every 10 days can fly within 2-3 weeks.
Bobwhites are commonly seen in groups known as coveys. Coveys usually consist of about 10-30 birds, depending on the time of year. Every night, for safety, the covey forms a circle with their heads facing outwards, away from each other and their tails together. If a predator startles them, the covey flushes in all directions.
Bobwhite quail are a popular game bird in the United States. In 1970 an estimated 35 million of them were shot. In the southeastern US these tiny birds were instrumental in the preservation of some of the best examples of old growth high pine.
I found this male along Joe Overstreet Road in Osceola County, Florida.
This image which was photographed at 100x magnification is another of the female part of the dandelion flower called the stigma. These are the curly structures in the middle of the flower that extend outwards (See Image 18 in this set). Best viewed large on black: View On Black
The first 13 images in this set show macro images of the dandelion at various stages in its reproductive cycle. The subsequent 12 images in this set of 25 focus on the microscopic structure of this fascinating "weed".
Not a whole lot of Amersfoort’s first city walls is left standing but this northern city gate is one of the originals called the Viepoort or Martenspoort it is the oldest gate in Amersfoort dating to the 13th century and was renamed to Kamperbinnenpoort in the 15th century after the completion of the second city wall defense system.
The original name was Viepoort because it was a cattle gate used to put the city stock to pasture with the Martenspoort as a secondary name because of the grazing grounds outside of it owned by monks of the St Martin’s Abbey from Utrecht,
Kamperbinnenpoort came about after the completion of the second wall when a Kamp or field was created between the old and new city walls.
This picture of the gate is taken from the Kamp side which would have faced outwards from town you can see the six throwing holes above the arch this design as well as looking good served a purpose as pour holes for molten pitch to rain down on invaders if they tried to breach the gate.
I took this on September 20, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 35mm 1/25s, f/13 ISO 100 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz Denoise, Luminar and DXO
Disclaimer: My style is a study of romantic realism as well as a work in progress.
Buckton is a small village situated a few short miles from Bridlington. The village pond attracts many birds and the yellow field of Rapeseed behind it attracted me to take this shot. I passed it on y outwards journey to a garden centre and I just had to stop coming back.

10 Hudson Yards NYC - 2016 - Architect: Kohn Pederson Fox
895-foot, 52-story futurist office building completed in 2016. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, it was the first tower in the Hudson Yards complex to have been completed, because it is the only Hudson Yards tower not on the artificial platform over the tracks of the West Side Yards.
The prism-shaped building is clad mostly in silver glass, with a base of glass, silver metal paneling, and grey granite. The southern facade cantilevers over the 30th Street spur of the High Line, where one of the building's entrances is located. The tower bridges over the elevated park to create a dramatic 60-foot public passageway extending through the structure. Above this rises a dramatic 15-story atrium incorporated into the tower, spanning Coach's floors. The glass southern wall of the atrium serves as a visual anchor for the High Line.
10 Hudson Yards is connected to its taller sister tower, 30 Hudson Yards, by a glass enclosed, 7-story retail podium, home to The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards. At the east end of 10 Hudson Yard's south facade, four enormous, granite-clad columns shaped at various angles support the cantilever over the High Line. At the west end, another structural element, this one with the glass cladding extending all the way down the street level, supports the opposite end of the tower, and together these frame the glass atrium. Five more granite columns, narrowing at their bases, form the east facade, with glass infill between them that narrows toward the top, in opposition to the stone of the piers. Above the High Line, the southeast-facing facet of the tower forms a wedge that narrows as it rises, angling slightly outwards before abruptly turning vertical as a narrow strip at the upper floors. The rest of the east and south facades have a serrated look, with the glass at each floor angling outward and overlapping the next floor.
The west facade sloped inward at the upper floors, giving the tower a leaning effect. The roof forms a slanted wedge, with two opposing triangles tilting down in opposite directions.
Located 65 million light years away in the constellation Eridanus is the large spiral galaxy NGC 1532 and its small companion galaxy NGC 1531. The gravitational effect of the small companion is causing plumes of stars to extend outwards from the large spiral.
