We did something that we have been talking about for years, that is, stop the car and take a photo of this bus.

Out my window this AM.

"Out to Sea"

Dark and gloomy conditions at Ruby Beach in Washington State. A few other photographers were grabbing the standard wide view of the rock formations that litter the entire coastline here. There are truly some wonders to behold for sure, but some of the rushing currents that were coming from behind us prevented me from going to far up the beach. Give it a click to see it in a larger format. Hope you enjoy!

The short, thick-necked Cattle Egret spends most of its time in fields rather than streams. It forages at the feet of grazing cattle, head bobbing with each step, or rides on their backs to pick at ticks. This stocky white heron has yellow plumes on its head and neck during breeding season. Originally from Africa, it found its way to North America in 1953 and quickly spread across the continent.

Ezekiel 22:21-22 “Indeed, I'm going to gather you together and exhale the fire of my fury, and then you'll be melted from the inside out like melting silver at the center of a furnace. When you've been melted from the center out, then you'll know that I am the LORD. I'll pour out my anger on you.”

This shot was taken when I was out strolling around in the nearby nature reserve of "Norra Järvafältet". I was looking for a single tree located in a grassy field so I could take a "frosty, foggy" shot later this year. I didn´t found exactly what I was looking for but I found this tree and decided I should try to find some good compositions. The tree's branches form a bit of a "mushroom hat" and are fairly symmetric. I will go back in the autumn and see how the scene changes and what colors that bring. This image is processed to be on the warm side, with saturated colors and "golden" glow to it.

This shot was taken with my Nikon D7200 and Sigma 24-105mm f4.0 art lens.

I am sure many of us can relate to this lovely scenario. Soon I hope we all will be able to get back to some kind of normal where dining out in your favorite restaurant will be as good as it always was.

Waxwing birds are not true long-distance migrants, but wander erratically outside the breeding season and move south from their summer range in winter. In poor berry years huge numbers can erupt well beyond their normal range, often in flocks that on occasion number in the thousands.
