We often find ourselves driving the backroads of the Ozarks right as the sun begins it’s slow descent behind our many hills. It’s a beautiful, peaceful time of day, and is often the backdrop for old barns or weathered farmhouses. City skylines are amazing and I love them, too, but…..

This was a little spot that we camped at for a couple of nights...we were lucky, we had all to ourselves. Sadly the small amount of water in the gorge was not safe to swim in, due to some microbes that could cause brain damage. We risked using it to wash our feet!
A very serene sunrise just me & Percy enjoying the views and the calm by ourselves. Good company pelicans, unless you are a fish of course.

Dear beautiful -:¦:- ε.м.ị.ε -:¦:-, thank you for asking me to do this picture with you and for building this snowman together with me. Having the privilege of sharing these beautiful moments with you was a joy and we had a good laugh together. I for sure had a lot of fun doing this with you, and it is so nice and comfortable being around you. You are for sure a kindred spirit and soul, I am grateful to get to know you.
Huge hugs coming your way with the best wishes of light, peace, joy, love and all good things in life, always.

The song speaks for it self I think, it is my favorite Christmas song and wishes for everyone. I wish the Christmas spirit was present all year around always. Merry Christmas everyone.
"Christmas Time"
We waited all through the year
For the day to appear
When we could be together in harmony
You know the time will come
Peace on earth for everyone
And we can live forever in a world where we are free
Let it shine for you and me
There's something about Christmas time
Something about Christmas time
That makes you wish it was Christmas everyday
To see the joy in the children's eyes
The way that the old folks smile
Says that Christmas will never go away
We're all as one tonight
Makes no difference if you're black or white
'Cause we can sing together in harmony
I know it's not too late
The world would be a better place
If we can keep the spirit more than one day in the year
Send a message loud and clear
There's something about Christmas time
Something about Christmas time
That makes you wish it was Christmas everyday
To see the joy in the children's eyes
The way that the old folks smile
Says that Christmas will never go away
It's the time of year when everyone's together
We'll celebrate here on Christmas day
When the ones you love are there
You can feel the magic in the air
You know it's everywhere
There's something about Christmas time
Something about Christmas time
There's something about Christmas time
Something about Christmas time
That makes you wish it was Christmas every day
To see the joy in the children's eyes
The way that the old folks smile
Says that Christmas will never go away
There's something about Christmas time
Something about Christmas time
That makes you wish it was Christmas everyday
To see the joy in the children's eyes
The way that the old folks smile
Says that Christmas will never go away
Please tell me Christmas will never go away

On my way home I found this little feather resting on fragile flower bed. I don't know why but it really reminds me of the book by Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being. “Anyone whose goal is 'something higher' must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.”
Tomorrow I will go to the library and find this book and read it again. I do think November is a great month to drink hot chocolate milk and read a lot of books.

Children joyful dancing in the sun
With a blissful ignorance of what's to come
When the guardsmen start to struggle
And the barriers give way
We're broken and we wither in the fray
We are husks
Alive but barely breathing
Sometimes we pull ourselves together
But our efforts fade away
We are dust
Crumbling by the moment
We try to push away the ending
And black roses fall the same
Running off afraid of what's to come
When you're facing down the barrel of the lawman's gun
But the saints have learned the secret
And the rebels know the same
We're killing just to bury our remains
We are husks
Alive but barely breathing
Sometimes we pull ourselves together
But our efforts fade away
We are dust
Crumbling by the moment
We try to push away the ending
And black roses fall the same
Preludes of every stanza
End on repeating notes
A tale of woe and sadness
Chоrus of silent throats
We try and keep a memory
Transcribing every line
But when they turn to ashes
We perish slaves to time
Burned out on borrowed moments
Used up like cigarettes
We feel our time expiring
But it's not over yet
Each finds a meager purpose
Though our cold grave awaits
We face the morbid beauty
Of our collective fate
We are flawed
Chained to the laws of nature
I guess we'll have to teach each other
To leave legends to our names
We are husks
Alive but barely breathing
Sometimes we pull ourselves together
But our efforts fade away
We are dust
Crumbling by the moment
We try to push away the ending
And black roses fall the same
We are husks
Alive but barely breathing
Sometimes we pull ourselves together
But our efforts fade away
We are husks
Alive but barely breathing
Sometimes we pull ourselves together
But our efforts fade away
We are dust
Crumbling by the moment
We try to push away the ending
And black roses fall the same

"I think we need to redefine failure. If we can flip the script and see these first efforts not as failure, nor as needing anything that looks like success, then we stop giving our brains the chance to confirm our bias that says we can’t do this and to reinforce the voices that say we can. We give ourselves small wins."

I'll not become a professional artist or photographer the way my sister has. That's so rare that her college awarded her a special prize for achieving in her chosen graduate field and degree.
But the urge to create in spite of my doubts continues. Just small wins...not a new career or huge success.

We all feel a little lost sometimes. We all feel a little lonely. We all feel sometimes like we're the only one looking out for ourselves, or that we're the only ones that would care if something ever happened to us.
We are all wrong.

We have cast ourselves back to Iceland for a two weeks campervan roundtrip through all places rare and wild and might have only intermitent internet access despite renting a 4G mi-fi but that is Iceland and wild terrain for you. Hope to report daily with fresh images and to see you all back in two weeks time.
We let ourselves be carried away by the imagination while looking at these images....

There is nothing quite like standing on a beach in the Artic circle surrounded with incredible mountains, golden sunshine, blue skies, turquoise water, gale force winds, frozen ice, sand and snow. We were greeted with ever changing conditions on our morning at Haukland beach.
I absolutely loved the colours here and my intention was to capture the snow as it was thrown across the beach the tricky thing here was just trying to keep the camera and tripod on the ground with the powerful winds.
Despite this being one of the most famous beaches in Lofoten we were lucky enough to have this amazing place all to ourselves.

It didn’t matter that we’d seen it on YouTube a gazillion times already. That we’d pored over Flickr for images from here had no effect whatsoever. When we pulled up in the car park and saw it for ourselves for the very first time, two pairs of eyes popped out of their sockets as if on cartoon springs and boinged about in front of us as we gasped in amazement. Boinged? Is that even a word? West Brom fans say it is, so we’ll go with it. Jokulsarlon was bonkers, and so were we at first sight. It was as if we’d arrived at a seaport, yet instead of mighty ships waiting to carry us off on a cruise, a chaos of white and blue forms. Every one of them uniquely shaped and ever changing, littering the lagoon, silent, yet moving away from the glacier towards the ocean at a speed that was barely detectable.
We’d arrived late in the evening, and though it was still quite busy, there was space to roam quietly alone, and I edged away from what crowds there were along the shoreline towards the glacier, until the only sound I could hear was that of large chunks of ice cracking and buckling mournfully out on the water. From the glacier they would break free, floating around like the world’s slowest rubber ducks in a bathtub, nodding to each other silently under the endless Icelandic daylight. Each of them knowing that after two hundred years or more of being trapped in an enormous blue wall of ice, they’d soon be swept away along the shortest river in Iceland, beneath that handsome white suspension bridge and onto Diamond Beach for the final act. If you’d bought a bottle of gin with you, here was the place to grab a chunk or two to bring it to the proper temperature. Sadly, I didn’t have gin. Happily I had a camera. And a spare one just in case.
The hinterland glacier creaked and heaved under a glowing envelope of late sunlight, that poked through dark clouds and ignited the scene before me, blazing a golden path across the lagoon. Up until now our visit to Iceland had delivered the sort of conditions we’d grimly acknowledged we would simply have to “work with,” but now we had some light to get excited about at last. Quite why I was shooting at f22, I really can’t say four years later. Perhaps I was in too much of a hurry to attach a filter in the days before I bought the magnetic ones that I can attach in no time at all. And here was the trade off between wanting to smooth out the water whilst not blurring the icebergs. At a second I seemed to be just about getting away with it. Three seconds and the blurring started to drop hints. But for many of those images taken here, I’d thoughtlessly aimed at thirty seconds. This, and the fact that we only passed here at midday three years later means I need to return to the glacier lagoon another time, this time at the right time, and opening the shutter for the right amount of time. Hopefully finding cleaner, simpler compositions amongst the icy debris. That’s a lot of things to get right. Seriously – f22? Still, it didn’t put me off having a go at reworking the image.
It seems strange that with so many images from last year’s visit to work on, I’ve found myself returning to the earlier 2019 trip a few times recently. A trip where we raced around in a hurry, seeing everything but seeing so little, barely able to get to grips with a location before moving onto the next one, which might have been a hundred miles or more away. Getting nowhere whatsoever when the clouds descended and hid everything from sight at two of the locations we’d been most excited about. I never felt I’d told the full story of that first visit to Iceland either. And I’m forever learning, trying to improve on the previous edit, hopefully getting somewhere even with such a cluttered scene as this. Will I still be unearthing images from the 2022 adventure in another four years’ time? Probably. Especially as I haven’t even started on so many of them yet. It’s like having a treasure chest that you can keep dipping into, finding images to shake out memories that need to written down, remembered and shared.
So I’ll carry on dusting off those older images, revisiting the raw files and seeing whether I’ve got any further forward in the editing process. After all, if there’s a golden glow over a lagoon full of icebergs to be worked on, it seems the obvious thing to do.
This year on our annual trek to Pacific Beach, we found ourselves walking through ground fog which obscured our destination. It perfectly illustrated my feeling of unease at journeying into the unknown as a nation with an ignorant demagogue as a leader. I try hard not to despair, but sometimes I feel like I am truly a 'stranger in a strange land'.

The early start certainly paid off and we had the entire island to ourselves to wonder around and shoot the endless compositions this place has to offer. Beaches, lighthouses, towers, old church ruins and wild horses roaming this place is magical.
This little stone boathouse with the golden sand and Twr Bach Lighthouse to the right of it just made for a really nice image in my opinion.

"SOME OLD FASHIONED THINGS LIKE FRESH AIR AND
SUNSHINE ARE HARD TO BEAT” - LAURA INGALLS WILDER. There is comfort in seeing the sun streaming through the trees welcoming a new day. It is especially heartwarming when you are outdoors to feel the warmth of that sun shining. For us, it was a bonus to have almost the whole campground to ourselves so we had the quiet emergence of the day to ourselves. It really is hard to beat.
Our lives are often, if not always, about finding a way for ourselves. We are surrounded by trees that give us protection, whose shade we may also fear. We find wide open spaces next to dense undergrowth and it is not uncommon for us to come across dangerous swamps and water holes in which we threaten to sink. So which way do we go?
We can walk on the paths left by generations before us. We can look for someone to show us a way or we can just follow the people around us. In these cases there is no guarantee that we will achieve what we want, where we really arrive. It's possible, and often enough we get closer. But it is not certain.
If we have the will to do it, if we are willing to make the effort and have the courage, we create our own path. This is a very special experience where we can grow beyond ourselves.
It's exhausting and sometimes scary, but once we get to the point where the path we’re creating is already the goal and we can invite others to follow us on that path, then we're at the source of true happiness.

In this season, the broad dark green leaves of elaeagnus are interspersed with small clusters of the most fragrant little flowers.
We first made the acquaintance of elaeagnus as a hedge bordering a French car park where we left the car to visit Maison Prévert.
Home again, we bought one for ourselves which, in contrast to the small size of the flowers, now grows 6 to 8 feet high near the stream in our garden.
If we allow ourselves to stay amazed and astounded at the vibrant instants of every day and do not feel ashamed of admitting to being speechless or dumbfounded sometimes... we can uncover unsuspected sparkling gems hidden all around us..

(Lynx pardinus) 022A0246 Sierra de Andujar - Spain
Guide Alvaro Peral (Wild Andalucia)
Here is our 2nd Iberian Lynx, he was very far away, about 150 meters.
In the Sierra de Andujar there is a path known to many people: on a bumpy stretch of road you can meet photographers from all over the world. Everyone patrols for a few kilometers (about three) because it's a place of passage favored by many Lynxs.
In any case, there are not many other possible choices because this path is framed by fenced private properties dedicated to bull breeding or by private hunting reserves. The sense of private property is extremely acute in this region.
Common practice is to exchange phone numbers with other photographers so that anyone who sees a Lynx can warn others. This means that very often we find ourselves with more than 10 or 20 photographers to photograph a furtive and often distant animal. There is a lot of intensity, friendly collaboration and shared emotions in these place.
The warehouse to the right is where my previous shot, live wire www.flickr.com/photos/42049292@N08/18359506813/in/photost... was taken. I actually went to Port Adelaide to get this shot as I had driven past this spot the day before and it looked like an interesting perspective of the Port River in Port Adelaide. As I was taking this shot, I saw a cyclist ride up to the open barred windows of the warehouse and start taking photos. So of course I had to go and explore myself ;)

Last Snow......
A heavy snow fell early March 2019 covering everything with a thick layer of fresh fluffy white snow. We got up early and headed to the park where we found ourselves in a scene from the movie Narnia; snow was falling from the branches above every time the wind blew. at times it was as if it was still snowing... with so much snow falling from the heavy laden branches overhead.

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

All children deserve a safe warm house. Growing up without such a basic need destroys their childhood and impacts on their health and education.
With such a cold winter this year its important to remember those not as fortunate as ourselves, who don't have a nice warm home. Shelter do such a fantastic job in helping those with housing difficulties we think its important to recognise their efforts.

How did people of the previous generations lived ? Yeah, we can learn more by digging up history, from reading literature works, from old photos, videos or even relevant paintings etc. Suffice it to say, no clear picture will emerge without seeing their settings for ourselves. This is the setting for a well known scholar/high ranking official ( Viceroy of Guangdong and Guangxi ) who was "granted" a white silk scarf -- something similar to what the Japanese economy got from Plaza Accord -- by Empress Dowager, to hang himself with for having favoured the revolutionaries. One of his sons was a painter, and a well known connoisseur who helped a lot to bring Qi Baishi -- the equivalent of Van Gogh or else Monet in China -- into public eyes. His youngest son was a great historian hailed by many as the greatest ever who also carried the nickname of "the professor of the professors" in the then Beijing University, for so many professors flocked into his classes there. This was also home of a great novelist who wrote some well known short stories which had been filmed by many producers and he also authored a book on Chinese costumes of the earlier Dynasties. This also happened to be the home of a well known modern artist/painter, who won a fortune by his works probably also through a little bit of luck, as once proclaimed by himself ... and I'll endeavour to post one or two of his works in Flickr, even though I understand that few Flickr enthusiasts really care much about paintings....
