The former owners of our house had quite an ardent "affinity" for mirrors in more than one area in the house. This long length-wise mirror shows the reflection of the hallway floor tiles as well as some of the salvaged photos on one of the walls. The writing and artwork is some of Maria's artwork on her bathroom door.

Walls are painted (Down Pipe again!), shelves are in and we finally have light in this room (I made the shade, took forever). We´re getting there! And I have my books back, yay!

As you can see, there are quite a few bushes and trees in our backyard plus a rose bush.

my little house painting

Wishing everyone a wonderful new year filled with good health, good friends, and a lot of happiness.

I haven't yet used either of the used Canon cameras I bought through Amazon so this is again 1 of the photos I took with a 1-time use camera in order to take some photos. I lost both of my original cameras in the 2-alarm fire in our former house in Tewksbury, MA as well as some of my lenses, tripods, my camera backpack and other camera equipment.

It was chosen for this book and I received 3 copies of the book as thanks for having been chosen. I knew it had been chosen for the book, but I didn't know it started the section until I received the books.

This is another of the dolls that my mother made that my sister, Jean, sent to me. My mother entirely made the clothes on this doll along with everything else that makes this doll a treasure. My daughter, Maria, also has a life-size Raggedy Ann doll that my mother made, too, which my sister sent to her. Besides everything else that my mother was good doing, she was an excellent seamstress. Unfortunately because of the 2-alarm fire in our former home in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, I no longer have the photos of me with the hat, leggings and coat that she made for me when I was about 3-4 years old nor any of the photos of me in the dresses she made for me when I was in the 1st or 2nd grade of grammar school. But I do have the memories of them!

My daughter rarely agrees to have her picture taken however as I'd helped her out with her artwork earlier, she agreed and we stepped into the field at the back of the house with a couple of SB900's in a 120cm back firing brolly softbox triggered with the Yongnuo YN622 radio system.

Lens is an old Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 AF-D which works perfectly on my D810.

The sunroom windows show more of the backyard.

During several of the years before our former home in Tewksbury, Massachusetts burned in a 2-alarm fire on 2/17/18, I had 2 computers and 2 photo printers in what were originally in 1 of 2 bedrooms on the Texas Road side of the house. One of the printers was one that was able to print 13 x 19 photos and I printed all of these at 1 point during some of the 49 years we lived in Tewksbury. There are also several books of photos that I took and that my family and I salvaged. There were several of them, though, that we didn't salvage, possibly because they were in the other bedroom in that side of the house, but also because I didn't remember that they were there.

The cover of this travel photography book in which my John Hancock photo was chosen to lead the section on Skyscrapers and Towers. I also had several other photos chosen and printed in other what have been considered as "coffee table books", but I don't believe my family and I checked the bookcases where I had placed them, so they weren't salvaged. When I find a copy of my bio, I'll be able to let people know the names of these books. They were all photos that had been chosen as winners in various photo contests and are all books that are in the Library of Congress.

Another shot of my dresser which shows a little of the sink.

This is a shot of the master bedroom and my side next to our bed. The night table is one of the ones that I bought and we paid someone to put it together. The photos are more of the ones that we salvaged from the Texas Road side of our house. The calendars are ones that my daughter Maria gave me as part of our Christmas presents from her.

It was 95 out here today and very windy. I dumped some trash and saw smoke. Looked and saw the whole mountainside near Lopez Lake on fire. That is just a hop, skip and jump from our property! Very scary!!

Another new Gold Medal Rose bud from our garden. They are so beautiful!

The unfinished sunroom is quite large. I've thought of possibly having it made into a combination computer and game room. The floor is cement so that is one thing that would have to be changed. The doors that lead into the backyard would also have to be changed for sturdier doors as there would be too much chance of having it broken into if it is made partially into a computer room. There is 1 light in it on 1 of the walls but only 1 electrical plug so more would also have to be added. When the POD arrived on June 1, 2019, we had unloaded everything from the POD to this sunroom.

New appliances, freestanding IKEA kitchen pieces. Chalkboard wall at right for changing art displays.

The top photos are some of the smaller note cards that my family and I salvaged from our former home in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The lower left box has some 4" x 6" unmatted photos which could easily be placed in mats. One of the other shelves has various sized mats that I had previously bought at a Dollar Tree in Tewksbury.

This shot shows the variable power supply I built before I added the precision LED voltage panel and before I added the Baeder SkySurfer and red dot finder. It was much more difficult to align this to Polaris in the dark without the SkySurfer and to get exactly 1rpm without the voltage panel.
