Another frog, but this one is from the pond in our backyard! This Striped Marsh Frog (Limnodynastes peronii) has taken up residence and has been calling for the last few nights.
Our average temperature for the whole month of January in this part of Northeast Ohio has been 21.6° (–5.5°C). Winter's not been here for a month yet, and it can already be called the coldest in about the last 5 years. These two northern cardinals don't seem to mind the frigid conditions. Male in foreground and female in back.

Longing to be back in the mountains, so thought I'd revisit the archives from our trip last summer to the Canadian Rockies. This one was taken along the shore of Moraine Lake shortly after sunrise in Banff National Park.
4 weeks from today, we will be on a plane to Alaska; YAY!!!!! Have a fantastic weekend, and as always, thanks for all your visits and comments :-)

Our Bonsai Tree, the White Pine. On a field tour last year, a naturalist compared these curved trunks in the white pine to the Japanese Bonsai tree. This was taken in Richfield County Park, part of the Genesee County Parks.
This is the Windmill at Lytham St. Annes Sea. I love this place, have been going here ever since I can remember. My kids love it too. There is a Lake (Fairhaven lake, took the goose pic there), a golf course, beach, park, theme park, pier and much more. It's just 20 minutes drive from us too!
We have our BBQ's on the beach there in the summer. :0)
