Amazing pose by RK poses <333

“I want to take all our best moments, put them in a jar, and take them out like cookies and savor each one of them forever.”

Okay, it's not actually within our backyard, but it's just beyond it. The yard behind our house borders a large park that is just being developed. The park was recently seeded, and the straw was put down as mulch. I took this shot while standing on our backyard deck. I think these Sandhill Cranes must have been eating the grass seed.

I know that there's not a lot going on in this image. But I rather like the repetitive poses of the birds, and I thought it was kind of cool that I could get this shot without leaving home, so I decided to go with it. The abundance of Sandhill Cranes in the area near our new home in Michigan has been one of the pleasant surprises of living here.

One of the advantages of discovering the Galapagos on a cruise is that the sunrise and sunset are just a few steps away from your cabin. How can you resist that?

IL NOSTRO GIARDINO SEGRETO...

Last night our little town (Grand Junction, CO) was covered by a rainbow. Some how that is reassuring to me. Smile.

this is just one of a bazillion beautiful scenes to behold at The Flower of Scotland. Read about it here on The SLuggle.

the title of the picture I thought should come from Scotland's Robert Burns, and it's from a lovely love poem called Composed in August which you can find here.

Our three new chicks at about 4 weeks of age:

Snow Drop, Inky and Peanut. Named by my Grandson.

Enjoying the sun on their roost.

They already love scratching around the garden and exploring looking for bugs etc. Lets hope we get some eggs when they are older.

This is our lovely Rhubarb, so affectionate bombarding us with licks and kisses when we arrived at our daughters house to take care of both her and Goose, my daughters other yorkie.

Yes butter wouldn't melt

That is of course until she's let out into the garden before bedtime. Then it becomes a skill of wits attempting to get her in again.

Rhubarb likes to chase birds, bees, moths, come to think of it, basically anything that moves.

And boy did we have a task on our hands, getting her in that night.

♫ OneRepublic - Counting Stars ♫

Lately, I've been, I've been losing sleep

Dreaming about the things that we could be

But baby, I've been, I've been praying hard

Said, "No more counting dollars, we'll be, we'll be counting stars"

Oh, take that money, watch it burn

Sink in the river the lessons I've learned

Take that money, watch it burn

Sink in the river the lessons I've learned

Take that money, watch it burn

Sink in the river the lessons I've learned

Take that money, watch it burn

Sink in the river the lessons I've learned

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

in our garden this year.

Have a lovely day/night:)

Down the players tunnel at Turf Moor

Burnley FC.

The Burnley players come down these steps onto the hallowed turf to massive rapturous applause and cheering at the beginning of each game.

This always makes the hair on my arms and neck stand up. I love to see the Claret & Blue.

I'm sure many of you are tired of seeing all my flower shots, so I'm going to be taking you on a tour of Our Town (probably with a few flower shots in between).

Mike and I live in a very rural, farming community. I'm not even sure it's big enough to call a town! There is much history here, as I'm sure there is in many of your cities/towns or communities.

So the story begins

City dweller

Successful fella

Thought to himself, "Oops, I've got a lot of money."

Caught in a rat race terminally

I'm a professional cynic

But my heart's not in it

I'm paying the price of living life at the limit

Caught up in the century's anxiety

Yes, it preys on him

He's getting thin

Try the simple life

He lives in a house, a very big house in the country

Watching afternoon repeats

And the food he eats

In the country

He takes all manner of pills

And piles up analyst bills

In the country

Oh, it's like an animal farm

Lots of rural charm

In the country

He's got morning glory

And life's a different story

Everything's going Jackanory

Touched with his own mortality

He's reading Balzac

And knocking back Prozac

It's a helping hand

That makes you feel wonderfully bland

Oh it's a century's remedy

For the faint at heart

A new start

Try the simple life

He lives in a house, a very big house in the country

He's got a fog in his chest

So he needs a lot of rest

In the country

He doesn't drink smoke laugh

Takes herbal baths

In the country

But you'll come to no harm

On the animal farm

In the country

In the country, in the country, in the country

Blow, blow me out

I am so sad, I don't know why

Blow, blow me out

I am so sad, I don't know why

He lives in a house, a very big house in the country

Watching afternoon repeats

And the food he eats

In the country

He takes all manner of pills

And piles up analyst bills

In the country

Oh, it's like an animal farm

Lots of rural charm

In the country

He lives in a house, a very big house in the country

So he needs a lot of rest

In the country

On the animal farm

In the country
