Encore appelé "Table des Fées" ou même "Bise Pierre", vieux de plus de 4000 ans, il est l'unique rescapé d'un ensemble mégalithique gigantesque, malheureusement démantelé au XIXème siècle. A l'origine, cet ensemble était constitué :
- de 4 dolmens, disposés en losange, reliés entr'eux par des allées de pierres levées et formant, par ce fait, une enceinte sacrée ;

The Caves of Kesh, Keshcorran Hill, County Sligo, Ireland
Archaeological investigations at these caves have unearthed bones from animals that stalked Ireland towards the end of the Ice Age. Large mammals such as brown bear, red deer, Arctic lemming & wolves all dating to more than 12,000 years ago. Our ancestors believed that this cave was an actual gateway to the “Otherworld”. They not only live in this cave, but they also buried their loved ones here to help guide them safely to the otherworld.
There’s always that curious side of me that wants to investigate caves & mysterious places. These are not the boring, dark & scary places most folk believe they are. Cave walls hold so many colours & textures, which have been slowly enriching over millions of years. Most colours found within cave walls are tones in which I have yet seen elsewhere in nature.
Caves are still very symbolic places for many people. In times of terrible storm, they’re certainly a wonderful place to shelter & warm with your thoughts until all blows over…..

Well, I simply had to share this. I opened up my Birthday Pressie from my partner to find the complete boxed set, all 15 Seasons of Supernatural...
I was so overcome with emotion over this that I have written a Blog about our first foray into the world of Supernatural, so I am hoping you might like to click on the link and have a longer read.
www.shelleyturnerpoetpix.com/post/supernatural-a-birthday...
But the conversation on opening my present went a bit like this..
"Oh! You have got me the whole Boxed Series..."
"Well, you said an Angel was in it."
"But...this went on for years...you got the whole lot?"
"You said the guy who plays him was a poet as well, yes?"
"I...well, yes amongst other things, but..."
"Angels change lives, help people."
"I know, but.."
"You are my Angel you know."
".......?!!"
"And I think you are an Angel to other people now as well."
".......?!!"
Reader, I think you can see why I married him all those years ago.
But then he played me this...
I think this was one on the best birthday's I have ever had in my life.

Denizens of Otherworld – gambling with their customers’ money in the casino of world finance. When they win they open the bonus bubbly, when they lose the debt gets passed back to the customer with interest and the corporate criminals leave with large payoffs.
* Can anyone sum up the banking scenario more succinctly than ” a rigged casino” without resorting to profanities?

a family of 3 pauses in the relative safety of a well lit doorway in brighton, massachusetts. at least that is one way to look at it.
they are seen from across the street in the reflection of an abandoned storefront's window. the interior arches of the empty store, and the different colored ambient lights thrown off by the street, conspire to create a surreal, dreamlike scene.
another way to look at it is this: these people stand in the light of a door that does not exist and goes nowhere. they themselves are apparitions inhabiting a disorienting and transient otherworld of reflected light. this is something you have to see to believe in a world you have to see to create.
Some of my happiest times have been out on my own in the dark with a camera. I remember being out on a golf course in Iceland photographing the aurora, the pictures never got posted, no foreground, but it was such fun.
So this day I'd been up on the Long Mynd in Shropshire hoping for an epic sunset, only to be disappointed.
On the way back down I passed through Rectory Woods and this scene. I added my torchlight to the doorway.
I also scared the s**t out of a dog walker as he passed by.
It was fun though!
Revisiting a favorite:
Preiddeu Annwn- is a poem taken from the 14th-century Llyfr Taliesin (Book of Taliesin) which makes intriguing mention of Arthur who apparently leads warriors on a raid of the Welsh "otherworld"
This was taken along the sea wall in the Lordship section of Stratford.. I shot this at 172 seconds using the B&W 10 stop ND filter. Converted in CS4 to black and white and then I used a copper tint.

I spent ages here investigating & thinking it all over in my mind. I have come to the realisation that our ancestors certainly had the right idea by living in these mysterious caves. Clearly for the shelter benefits from the harsh elements but especially for the scenic reasons. Each morning they awoke, to be greeted by this lush green landscape as far as the eye can see. What a way to start your day! Clearly this mightn't be a lifestyle choice for everyone especially in modern times with our home comforts etc.
No matter how high statured anyone thinks they are over others, remember this one thing….. Look far enough back on our family trees & learn that “We all humbly descended from caves”

Bit of a lazy day, despite not staying up till midnight for the first time in years... We usually watch Hootenanny, but George Ezra was up first, which caused us to turn TV off and go to bed at 11.30pm. Not much point, as the West Chiltington bazooka brigade started up at midnight or thereabouts. More money than sense round here. At least I didn't have to deal with a terrified horse...
A first attempt at oil and water pictures... More work required methinks.

This mightn't be a lifestyle for everyone especially in todays times, however it's something id personally prefer over a bustling city any day!

Manannán mac Lir—also known simply as Manannán or Manann—is a sea deity in Irish mythology. ‘Mac Lir’ means “son of the sea”. As well as being a sea god, he is also seen as a psychopomp and is associated with the Otherworld and the veil between the worlds. He is affiliated with both the Tuatha Dé Danann and the Fomorians. In the tales, he is said to own a boat named Scuabtuinne (“Wave Sweeper”), a sea-borne chariot drawn by the horse Enbarr, a powerful sword named Fragarach (“The Answerer”), and a cloak of invisibility. Manannán appears also in Scottish and Manx legend, and the Isle of Man (Manainn) is named after him. He is cognate with the Welsh figure Manawydan fab Llŷr.
Avalon is the home of visions
Of everything sacred, precious and fine
A place where we can journey
Escape to in our difficult lives
But what if for a moment it was real
And suddenly you were offered a glimpse
It would haunt you for evermore
You would keep chasing that bliss
What are you searching for
What is it that you have missed
Something always elusive
Something always hidden in the mist
Home of the wounded
Sanctuary of the blessed
A reliquary for lost treasure
Some of it sent with a kiss
Would we find our answers
Would we find some peace
Get to ask our questions
In the Halls of Kings
It can turn into a kind of madness
But we love our Holy Fools
They live in a kind of irreverence
They don’t follow any rules
But thank God for those who still dream
Thank God for those who still hang on
For a love that might otherwise be lost
Believing in the land of Avalon

Sometimes the words and image go to together so perfectly I just feel like a bystander. But of course, neither would happen if I was not there at this location taking the image, having carefully wrapped my Grail up carefully and placed it in my camera bag with my lenses. I like to leave the camera out as much as possible, sitting on the car seat beside me as I drive to where I want to go, in this case, Glynde Church in Sussex, UK. This cup in my collection is known as the Glastonbury Cup, and I have had it for some years now.
The light this Autumn day was incredibly soft and mellow, warm as a summer’s evening. And as soon as I placed the cup in the last rays of the sun as it set for the afternoon, an enchantment seemed to settle over this beautiful place and the cup.
As I stood there in this sacred place with the Glastonbury Cup looking so ethereal in the light I thought of Avalon, that land of the otherworld, where Kings rest, waiting to be called again to answer their country’s need.
I have paired this work with Bryan Ferry’s ‘Avalon’, after all, what else could I do?
