This is my first ever attempt to stack a deep sky image after one afternoon learning how to do this (in Affinity Photo). The image consists of just 11 lights with a total of 72 seconds exposure time, ISO 1600, 800 and 400, no darks, lights or bias images (since I didn't make any).

Yet again the weather was perfect for night photography at Copped Hall. This is the 3rd of these evenings we have held and 9 visitors went away very happy. No wind, half-moon and even the threatened sub-zero temps didn't materialise until we were going home.
The lights from the M25 mean that there is always some light pollution but without clouds, I was at least able to pick out Orion.

This is a picture, taken by me, of the Great Orion Nebula.
This is a huge glowing cloud of dust a gas so large that light takes decades to cross it. New stars are being formed in it as you look at this picture.
This is an HDR image. 6 x 5 minute exposures, 6 x 2.5 minute exposures, 6 x 1.25 minute exposures, 6 x 30 second exposures and 6 x 15 second exposures were all shot with a Canon 350D and specialised equipment, then combined to produce this one picture.
So after Orion was back in the skies again, i really had to try it again. My goal was ofcourse to improve the pic from last year, and i did (with even less data so thats weird). But i'm happy with the result, even got more nebulosity in the stack, but left that out because of noise (not enough data for that). I shot this just from my backyard in Breda, Holland.

Unfortunately I couldn't frame up Orion properly, so I had to crop a lot more from the mosaic than I wanted to.

The constellation Orion is home to some amazing deep sky objects! The amount of gas, dust, and stars makes this part of the winter Milky Way just stunning to photograph. This is a 25 image mosaic made over the course of 5 days.

Chapeau bas Philippe !

These three big Century's have arrived on a loaded train at Little Lake and will wait out a meet with a couple empties. Plenty of time to cut the power off run back thru the siding and grab the rear crew and then pull back up and grab lunch at the local VFW. As more and more Mom and Pop restaurants closed there doors along the ore line this became the lunch stop of choice in to early 80's.
Great Orion and Runing Man nebulae. Stacked JPEG files and a bit of incident light. Not great, but a rush-job in a short cloud-free period from suburban environment. Focus could have been sharper but getting the hang of the equipment (my excuse 😀).
Thought I'd test the limits of my star adventurer mini by attaching my 150-600 lens. It actually worked a lot better than i thought. This is a stack of around 50=25 seconds before the cloud came in. Will improve this as time goes on. Just happy i can track deep sky with my current set up!
