The orbs aren't flat like on a lens but 3 dimensional. It ISN'T raining. Asbury Park boardwalk, NJ

Tiny crystalline orbs acting as lenses.

I love all the great shots of waterdrops that have another image inside them. I've been experimenting, and this is my best try so far. The largest drop is about 3mm. I used the Super Macro setting on the Canon S5 IS. Cropped and saturated in Paint Shop.

Look, Matt, I bought the orb...now I just need to learn how to use it...

Orb takes lead late in the stretch and goes on to win the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby. Shot for Dan Dry (Churchill Downs).

A close up of an Orb Web Spider in my garden. These are pretty common in the gardens of the UK in September/October. Fattening up for the winter hibernation!

I decided to go outside and call out for them. Said a little prayer asking God to allow them to be in my picture and this is what I got!

Sample of our organic insect control around the backyard. Just thought I would post a sample of the different orb weavers we have within 15 feet of each other.

I don't know much about arachnid ID-ing, so I'd really appreciate any ID help on this lovely orb weaver.

In July this beautiful spider became trapped between the glass and screen of a kichen window at my parents' house, and was still there by January the following year.

If you can cope looking at spiders I think this one is great on extra large as it looks like it is staring at me, with all its eyes It was on the ground when I spotted it. I ran for my camera as it worked its way up the Cabbage Palm, I was afraid I wouldn't see it again as it was so well camouflaged. I think it is an Orb spider and like looking at it so much you will have to let me be indulgent as Ive loaded 5 photos of it (nothing compared to how many I took).

The association for the conservation and appreciation of Historic Paris. This is the headquarters, it is a medieval townhouse that once belonged to a monestery - in Picardy I think. This was used when the Abbot visited the capital, it was also used by monastic students who studied theology at the university of Paris.

There has been much conservation work done, especially in the cellars. Quite a spooky place.

I came out of the front door the other night waiting for the pizza man - and looked up to my left, and saw this HUGE spide's web! The spider had built a web nearly eight feet in diameter. The flash caught the web from the side, giving the web the same look as the infinity symbol. The flash also illuminated the spider herself - a big orb-weaver with a diamter well over an inch. By morning, it was gone.

I could not resist a quick test of my new orb spinning tool. I had fun turning the dominant light from white to red, by adjusting the power settings on the torches. It's all so easy and the spinner works very well.

A closer view of the orb weaver. Many consider spiders despicably ugly. Up close however, they can be beautiful, intriguing creatures. This species has 4 eyes on top, 2 on each side.

Ever wonder where the Orb spiders go during the day? Near one of their webs anchor points they have a nest; where they curl up and try to make themselves as inconspicuous as possible!

Cool glowy orb thing at the Science Centre. You know the kind of toy -- you brush your fingers across the glass surface, and streaks of...plasma?...follow them around.

Apparently there were warnings over the door, telling visitors not to go in with electronic equipment like digital cameras. Unfortunately I nipped in the back door and didn't see them. Everything still seems to work though. :)

In every photo i took of my dog theres some orb like presences! I'm sure they're just reflections; but the fact they're absent when my dog is was kinda wierd. Close up of the fence orb.

This is hanging itself out to dry, having recently shed its skin.

It's a young one. Body less than 1cm.
