I'm using love of nature and colour in my attempt to be optimistic.

This is not as dark as it looks. I am in fact revisiting my old music and was listening to the Rolling Stones, one of my favourite songs being Dead Flowers. So I thought I must present you all with some dead flowers, but in the most optimistic kind of way!

Looking out of the window. Dear Flickr-friends, stay healthy !

Still cannot walk, there is improvement. Pain is getting less.

Loaded 2nd December 2021

Oh yeah! It´s Monday.

Two local inshore fishing boats tied up at the quayside at Scarborough harbour, Optimistic and Enterprise at dusk on Thursday evening.

I had purposely gone to the harbour to get some sunset shots as the sky had been a very vibrant orange on the previous evening but as usual I did not have a camera on my person only my iphone and while I got off a couple of shots I wasn't happy with the images and so made the trip down again the following evening. But the sky was nowhere near as vibrant though I was quite happy with a couple of my results.

Thanks for taking the time to view this and other images in my photo stream.

I had planned to post a forward-looking optimistic post to anticipate the New Years celebration. However my community was visited by a horrific fire today that has put a huge damper on local spirits. A grass fire likely started by a downed power line spread quickly fanned by 80 mph winds into two communities east of Boulder, Superior and Louisville. At least 600 homes and several businesses were quickly consumed, making this the most destructive fire in Colorado history. Additionally a hospital was evacuated, but thankfully was not damaged by the fire. At this time no deaths have been reported, but a thorough evaluation won’t be possible for a few days. Ironically our first major snowstorm is forecast for tomorrow.

This photo is not the Marshall fire described above, but rather is from the 2020 Calwood fire, also in Boulder County. The scene provides a sense of the overpowering nature of fires in an arid landscape, which are becoming a more common occurrence outside of the “fire season,” likely due to climate change.

Historic flood levels have caused terrible devastation in the Fraser Valley but the kindness, cooperation, giving and care shared by the community is truly cause for a positive and optimistic view of things!

I came across this strange scene of an ant pulling on a wing of a healthy sweat bee. Despite of its size, the ant was giving the bee a hard time, because it could not take off.

A more optimistic view of rural Ireland than yesterday's photo, though some people see those wind farms as (pardon the pun) 'ass'-inine..... :-)

Restaurant in Reykjavík. It was nighttime, in November, so not even smokers were sitting outside. Some interesting items on the menu, if you zoom in. Traditional Plokkari, anyone?
