Sundance only experiences outdoor weather through an open (though screened) window. Here he is enjoying fresh summer air from my office chair (which he immediately took over when I went to the kitchen for coffee). Typically there are a couple of windows opened in our house unless it gets very hot or very cold.

From one of my rainy days in Arizona recently, looking for wild horses - I couldn't find them so I did wildflowers. Actually, I walked through one of the areas where I had seen the horses and used one of their trails. I decided they were pretty smart the way they went around thorny obstructions, etc. This little stand of poppies and lupine was right there next to their trail. This one cracked me up: sure looks like the poppy is eating the lupine. The combo of their two colors is also a personal favorite.
My zinnia plant is still in bloom. It attracts a lot of butterflies this time of year. One butterfly has open wings and the other closed. Just two of a dozen or more on the plant at once.

A tiny musical box from a souvenir shop that plays "The Godfather" theme on turning the handle. It is a challenge to turn the handle at the correct speed to play the tune properly but when one feels obliged to buy something in the shop this is one of the cheapest options.
I thought all doors were supposed to be closed before moving. Oh well. A freight train rolling over Alameda Creek in the Niles District of Fremont, California.

Open river water in January here is very rare. Our mild temperature swings result in unusual occurrences. Such as Canadian Geese on the open ponds yet, and hibernating animals that aren't . . .
It does create interesting landscapes and sounds not normally heard this time of year. The forecast is for colder weather in February, so we shall see . . .

Pot dispensaries are the norm now. I don't partake, so I've never been inside one. I hear it can be quite the experience, and what's sold inside inside isn't your Woodstock grandma's pot.
