En compañia de mis buenos amigos Salva del Saz y Pepe Murria.,nos fuimos a Olba a buscar lugares en el río Mijares,cuando me disponía a hacer la foto y una vez cruzado el río al apoyar el tripode ,este venció por culpa de un desnivel y la cámara montada con el portafiltros.el polarizador,todo ,cayo al agua quedando medio cuerpo sumergido durante 2 o 3 interminables segundos...la levante,le pase un trapo como pude y en un acto reflejo volví a enfocar y la maquina funcionaba!!!!!!.Este es el resultado despues de la caída.

Named: "Patricia".

 

First flown as G-OLBA in early Mar-88, this aircraft was re-registered with Short Brothers as G-BOFG for some test flights before being leased to Capital Airlines as G-OLBA in mid Mar-88.

 

It was repossessed by Shorts Aircraft Financing Ltd in Oct-90 and stored at Belfast Harbour Airport. It was sold to AL Aviation Leasing GmbH in Jan-93 as D-CCAS and leased to Rhineland Air Service. Rhineland Air Service was renamed RAS Fluggesellschaft in Mar-96.

 

In Dec-96 AL Aviation Leasing sold the aircraft to Nightexpress GmbH while the lease to RAS continued. It was returned to Nightexpress GmbH in 2002. Nightexpress was bought by BDA Bespoke Distribution Aviation in Mar-16.

 

In Jul-17 the aircraft was sold to Alliance Air Charter (USA) as N970AA. It was sold to Air Cargo Carriers (USA) in Mar-21. Now 37 years old and said to be still in service. Updated 31-Mar-25.

On the ramp at Luton. Capital were a short lived airline based at Leeds Bradford airport between 1987 and 1992. The registration reflect their home base of LBA.

 

Delivered new to Capital as G-OLBA on 21Mar88. WFU and stored 08Oct90. To Rheinland Air Service as D-CCAS 25Jan93. To Nightexpress Dec96. To Falcon Leasing in the States as N970AA on 11Jul17 and still current.

Early rising sun giving a warm and peacefull atmosphere at the international airport of Beirut, Lebanon.

In the background the green mountains with the Syrian border.

 

New crew is waiting for the stretched Douglas DC-8 just arriving in Beirut, from Tokyo via Manilla, Bangkok and Karachi.

 

The waiting crew will continue the flight to Amsterdam via Athens and Frankfurt. Note that at least in the cockpit were, captain, first officer and flight engineer.

 

This DC-8-63, Vasco da Gama PH-DEH was delivered to KLM in August 1969 in this coloursceme with white roof, double blue cheatline and horizontal stripes at the rudder.

In 1985 she left KLM and had several registrations in Iceland, and the USA. In 2011 she was still spotted in flying conditions at London Heathrow.
