The light passing through the gaps between the leaves of the trees provide a camera obscura to view the soloar eclipse in an abstract pattern on our driveway.
Apologies for defects in one of the images both obscura from the same position one regular & one with "tube" (anamorphic) but may be of interest anyhow. May have intersurface reflections from glossy surface paper. Any comment welcome.
For some reason this nudibranch kept opening and closing its white mouth. Maybe it got something stuck or didn't like the taste of it.
I turned my room into a camera obscura. The most interesting is to see the street in the hoof, pretty cool for a street photographer isn't it? What about the cityscape in the wall? I think i'll leave my room like this for while

Camera obscura= turning my guest bedroom into a camera
I blackened the windows and left a small hole for an aperture. The result is an inverted image of outside on the opposite wall. The details are a bit more vivid on camera than on the wall. Seems the brighter it is outside and darker the room works best

I got soooo excited when I saw this as never seen one before and couldn't wait to go in... sadly it was shut down :(
The Camera Obscura (Latin expression; "camera" for 'vaulted chamber' and "obscura" for 'dark' - together 'darkened chamber') was one of the inventions that led to photography and the photo camera. The device consists of a box or room with a hole in one side. And it just makes me think of this cave that we visited. A "room with a hole in one side", hahaha.
Cave photography with one external flash on-camera. Not the best of options, but given the circumstances, it was as good as it could get that day. Panorama of 2 frames.

Due to having two windows and an door to outside I was able to experiment with the various windows in my bedroom to create a camera obscura. The southern facing window allowed for the best projection of the world outside onto my bedroom walls. I think this may have been die to the sunlight being directed on the houses outside, rather than through my window. The size of the hole to let light through the window was around 2cm in diameter and seemed to generate sufficient light and the sharpest image.
The main difficulty was the time of day, as there was only a small window of time where the light was bright enough to create the camera obscura.
I am pleased with the overall composition of the image and decided to include a figure to convey the surreality of the projection and play with the mind's eye. I find it also generates a dreamy sense of loneliness through being secluded in a personal room, separated from the outside world.
The Isle of Man’s camera obscura was built in 1892 purely as an attraction for the flourishing Manx tourist industry.
The masterpiece works by using a series of mirrors and lenses which are located around the roof line above a darkened room.
Views of the surrounding area are then projected onto a circular table which has been separated by partitions to give 11 moving colour pictures of the 360 degree view which includes Douglas harbour, the lighthouse and horizon.

this image was post-processed using Evening Obscura from theDream set. easily my favorite and most-used black&white action of all time.
i'm kind of a color super-fan for the most part, but i designed this action in honor of my longtime attraction to old wetplate photographs, low contrast with a very shallow, sometimes non-existent high end of the range.
i love how this Colorshift action will simplify an image, blending in a lot of information on the high and mid-high ranges. it can be very flattering for locations that aren't ideal, or really strengthen ones that are.
