Inside this romantic image lies a sad story.The small building in the center, is the only Camera Obscura wordwide with a 360 degree view. It's the first one built in Greece, and is located in Perdika. The specific camera obscura, is a cylindric house, with seven meters in diameter, and with twelve openings in all hemispherical directions. Through these twelve holes, light will enter the dark room, and thus produce an image of the 360° panorama of the outside world, split up in twelve individual images, upside down and reversed, on an circular, semi-transparent screen, hanging down from the ceiling.
This building was part of the Light & Image exibition which took place in May 2003. The bad news is that since then, it has never been maintained because of bureaucracy, lack of interest from officials and lack of money.

Camera Obscura
Die einfachste Art zu fotografieren.
Selbstgemachte Lochblendenkamera mit einer Blendenöffnung
von 0,36mm. Das Foto wurde 100 Sekunden auf Schwarzweiß Fotopapier
belichtet mit einer errechneten Blende 278 und danach entwickelt.
Anschließend wurde unter einem Schwarzweiß Vergrößerungsgerät das Foto
nocheinmal auf ein zweites Fotopapier durchbelichtet
und entwickelt zum Positivfoto.

The simplest way to take photos.
Homemade pinhole camera with an aperture of 0.36 mm.
The photo was exposed for 100 seconds on black and white photographic paper
exposed with a calculated aperture of 278 and then developed.
The photo was then exposed again under a black and white enlarger
on a second photographic paper
and developed into a positive.

An avenue of November mist through a wooded clearing. I'd been driving around in this heavy mist for a few minutes unsure of where to go next in unfamiliar surroundings. I pulled into a layby to take stock and get a sense of my bearings, wandered over to a locked gate and peered into this view. "That'll do" I said to myself.

Entstanden ist das Bild durch reflektiertes Licht der Fassade vom Haus gegenüber. Dieses strahlt durch das offene Fenster und das Schlüsselloch einer Zimmertür und projektiert ein auf dem Kopf stehendes Bild auf die darauf folgende Tür im Flur. Wenn somit alle anderen Türen zu sind, steh ich in meiner eigenen Camera Obscura.

The Ipomoea obscura, commonly known as the obscure morning glory or the small white morning glory, is a species of the genus Ipomoea. It is an invasive species native to parts of Africa, Asia, and certain Pacific Islands. While the plant's seeds are toxic, the leaves can be used for many different medicinal purposes.

Depuis hier, enfin débarrassée de mon attelle, il faudra du temps pour retrouver force et mobilité de mon bras, une "liberté" retrouvée qui ne va pas sans douleurs, il faut aussi éviter tout excès, mais ouf, quand même !
Camera Obscura (chambre noire) & Word of illusions est une attraction populaire d'Edimbourg basée sur l'optique : projections, hologrammes... La terrasse offre des vues spectaculaires sur Edimbourg, du moins lorsqu'il n'y a pas de brouillard ! Devant l'établissement, sont installés plusieurs miroirs déformants.

Today we visited Lacock for a quick stroll around the grounds and enjoyed viewing this through a camera obscura set up in the garden.
