Something a bit different from my normal fare, although I consider this and the above one both to be "pattern" shots. These two shots were inspired by some pics that Lisa S posted a while back. This one was taken in my Dad's old workshop, and was inspired by a shot Lisa posted of her Father's workshop. Dad collected all sorts of nuts, bolts, washers and myriads of other small items. These jars were from a cheese spread that we had in Illinois when I was growing up - "Ye Olde Tavern Sharp". It was pretty good, as I recall. I did have to arrange these so that the jar labels all faced out.

A small corner of the Rolls Royce production line where workers can come and get any nuts and bolts they need. Racks and racks of purple BMW boxes full of fixings.
Taken at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009.
There was an engine manufacturer that had this impressive stand which was displaying some of the biggest and most powerful engines I have ever seen....they produced one type of engine that had more torque than 3 Bugatti Veyrons put together!! Mind blowing!!
Anyway, they pretty much make engines for trains and construction machinery and stuff like that.
This part of one of the engines stood out, so I thought I'd take a snap ;-)

From a volume of 'Photograms of the Year' dating from the early 1930's.
Specialist Koken tool for removal of Landrover propshaft nuts. Previously had problems removing the nuts (9/16 inch / 14mm) on a 200Tdi with an open ended spanner.
A quality tool, Made in Japan.
Koken propshaft bolt tool - KK13145A150-9/16 (3/8 Drive)
"Each section was designed on the principal (sic) of the masonry arch, with "voussoir"-shaped segments bolted together at the flanges and was supported by four iron ribs each cast in three pieces and bolted together with connecting plates. The ribs sprout from cast-iron springing plates on the jutting ledge near the top of each pier, and, in the case of the outermost girders only, are filled with cast-iron plates, thus giving the impression that the trough is a solid arched unit.
