This vintage postcard was found at a estate sale. On the opposite side is a photo of Bucking Broncos at Fort Morgan, Co. I'm sure Mr. Case was thrilled to receive this postcard by mail in Baraboo Wi, the year was 1907. The lost art of the written word!

I woke up to very heavy condensation on the inside of the window and tried this option.

For Macro Mondays "Numbers and Letters" theme. Numbers and letters are an important part of measurement.

For those of you who grew up with out the fun of our "Feet and Inches" system the table on the arch is for converting fractional inches into decimal inches. This is something we get quite good at, but I doubt that those using the Metric system worry about this much.

So, a Pennyweight is 24 grains, or one twentieth of a troy ounce. Got that? Nope. A jeweller could explain it, though, because it's apparently a unit used to weigh gold. As far as I'm concerned, these are just pretty little bits of metal that make a nice tinkling sound when they touch each other and, very handily, have both numbers and letters on them. :)

About 15 years ago I lost this long shafted Phillips screwdriver. About 5 years ago I was preparing ground for building a shed when I dug it up. (I have no idea how it got where it was. I blame the kids.) I cleaned it up and other than the merest bit of surface rust and a darkening of the shaft, it was as good as new! The letters and numbers embossed on the shaft read, "CHROME - VANADIUM PH 2 x 4"

The 7/5/2021 Macro Mondays theme it Numbers and Letters.

This is the rear sight that was on my custom built target rifle when I was a member of the United States International Rifle Team nearly 70 years ago. It's been rattling around in the back of one of my junk drawers for all these years and has become a bit corroded, so I converted it to black & white in an effort to hide the rust... Fortunately, the numbers and letters stand out clearly for the MM theme.

Just love the macro mondays finds at the antique market. HMM!
