Young Brian is so pleased with himself - his mum and dad measure him every week and now it seems like he is finally having his growth spurt - adolescence is on the way!

Don't feel well and my creativity is lacking because of it! This is all I could think of! Happy MACRO MONDAYS.
Wakeup please! It's a beautiful sunny Saturday... a day for a smile.
The theme for "Smile on Saturday" is dedicated to Andrea Bella, my thoughts go out to her family and loved ones.
Thanks all for your visit!
I’m getting ready for a dive trip next month and needed to check out my dive watch. Good thing, the battery needs replacing and long overdue for a service. So, as I noticed the Numbers and Letters, I thought I’d make a photo and submit it to this week's theme for Macro Mondays. HMM!
My final attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Numbers and Letters"
This "Tomioka-Copal E36 MC 71 mm F 4" is probably my favorite lens of them all. Despite its limits and the bad overall condition, it‘s still an incredibly capable lens and a joy to use! I love the fact that it has a focal length of 71 mm and a filter thread of 37.5 mm! It‘s really odd and imperfect... but then again - so is this capture... and so am I!
If you‘re interested, you can look at the album below to see some shots I made with this lens.

Quick one for Macro Mondays, didn't have much time this week. Obviously, alphabet spaghetti which contain no numbers, so had to resort to cake decorations for the numbers. A revolting combination ...

A kinetic watch that Mrs FW gave me some years ago has a certain six appeal. It needs some TLC, so I'll be taking it to a watchmaker for new glass over the summer.
Image taken with the Olympus Plan C 4X infinity focus microscope lens. This is a focus merge of two shots to get all the text nice and sharp, and the image is about 9mm across.
THOMAS JEFFERSON ENSLAVED 600+ AFRICAN-AMERICANS.
Thomas Jefferson helped to create a new nation based on individual freedom and self-government. His words in the Declaration of Independence expressed the aspirations of the new nation. But the Declaration did not extend “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” to African Americans, indentured servants, or women. Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration and called slavery an “abominable crime,” yet he was a lifelong slaveholder.
My grandparents operated a grocery store in which they used these weights (and a few bigger "brothers"). After years of use, they weren't of use anymore as modern scales took over. A few years ago they reappeared and I gave them a nice place in my house. They are a precious memory of my grandparents, aunts, and a time that has passed.
Thank you for your views, faves and comments, they are all much appreciated!
Macro Mondays: Numbers and Letters
I had no ruler handy and asked several people, but I found none. So I ended up measuring the picture through a very scientific method, by folding an A4 paper in 3 and checking that the length of the folded page was superior to the photographed items (which, by the way, I have no idea what games they come from, except for the Connect Four board). Macro Monday themes sometimes have people looking strangely at me.
A capacitor, for macro mondays I often look in my husband's stock for a subject. :-)

Hello there,
This week's challenge for Macro Mondays was "Numbers and Letters." I used one of my extension tubes as my subject. Happy Macro Mondays! HMM!
Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving me a comment. I do love hearing from you!
Have a fabulous day and week!

One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Numbers and Letters"
This simple tessar-design bellows lens may be one of the key reasons why I got into collecting manual lenses (Wait a minute... did I just admit that I am 'collecting'?) It was the first one I purchased separately and apart from being a real beauty - at least in my eyes - it is a very good lens as well. After looking at the first testshots I made with this lens I was a lost cause... Whenever I look at the lettering now I am reminded of the rekindling (or the real beginning?) of my interest in photography, it‘s history, techniques and tools!

Optical sound synchronization ID frames on 35mm SMPTE Universal Leader film. (16mm copies could be made from 35mm originals, hence the 16mm frame.) The 35mm frame was printed 20 frames ahead of the Picture Start frame; 16mm, 26 frames ahead. The marker orientation indicated the location of the sound reader: outboard for 35mm, inboard for 16mm.
Maybe too much messing about for Macro Mondays, but I do like how the product codes on the base of this aluminium can popped out with Neon image processing in Picasa.
