The Kodak 2A Folding Autographic Brownie, made between 1915-1926. I found it at a car boot sale yesterday, and thought I'd share this photo with MM today.
Taking off the glass lens at the front, it's interesting to look at the mechanisms and controls available 100 years ago - including the shutter diaphragm and above that, the 10 aperture blades. It's set to f11.
Plus all the brass lettering and numbers. As this is a close-up macro (the front isn't as large as it is made to look here!), it doesn't include the exposure time controls to the right. I’ve posted another photo (next) showing all the front controls.
This Spotted Hyena (aka Laughing Hyena) is making off with a very identifiable corpse of a Wildebeest. Hyena are capable hunters and even more capable of stealing prey from other carnivores. They will call in their numbers, usually run off the predator that did the hard work of making the kill, then fight amongst themselves for the pickings. I very much doubt that this guy will get to enjoy all of what it is running off with as it will be too much to defend against other hyena. But that’s it’s hope as it takes off with the prize. (Spotted Hyena – Crocula crocula; Wildebeest, aka “gnu”, Connochaetes gnou) (Sony a1, 200-600 lens @ 284mm, f/5.6, 1/640 second, ISO 1600)
A close-up view of a tree trunk with numbers painted on it in a forest setting. The natural beauty of the forest is highlighted by the contrasting colors and textures.
Don't tell me your name I don't want to know
And don't forget to take the reminders when you go
Good things had to end
And I was never any good at saying goodbye
Because when I say goodbye a silly thing happens
And I always cry
Numbers
You're looking so thin these days are you doing speed?
(No, numbers)
Have you seen your face? Now you're really going seed
(Playing numbers)
Doing a nine to five in the day
And you never know their names
Because names make a person real
And there's no real people in these games
Numbers
Pass them on and pass them by
Numbers
Never hold a good thing down for long
Numbers
Throw 'em away like Kleenex
Numbers
Pick them up and push them away
Numbers
Oh numbers
Until you wake up one day
And find that you're a number
Body one, body two, body three, body four
Body one, body two, body three, body four

These grey headed flying foxes are relatively new to Adelaide (10 years) and are hanging around increasing in numbers, much to the annoyance of local fruit growers.
Los dados infinidad de combinaciones en las cuales las posibilidades de ganar o perder no dependen de la habilidad del jugador sino exclusivamente del azar. Te atreves?
Juego de numeros
Dice infinite combinations in which the chances of winning or losing does not depend on the skill of the player but only by chance. You dare?

WWT Slimbridge - Estuary Tower.
The Wigeon is a medium-sized duck with a round head and small bill. The head and neck of the male are chestnut, with a yellow forehead, pink breast and grey body. In flight, Wigeons show white bellies, male Wigeons also have a large white wing patch. Wigeons breed in central and northern Scotland and also in northern England. Many birds visit the UK over winter from Iceland, Scandinavia and Russia. With large numbers of wintering birds at a few UK sites, it is an Amber List species. (RSPB).
Easily panicked is the Wigeon. This is a large group of wigeon settling down again after who knows what set them off! They only moved about 20 feet! (Just over 6m). At one point they where walking on land in a vee formation, the bravest of them leading the way… then something would spook them and it was back to the water, quick as you like.

My thanks to anyone who views, faves or comments on any of my photos. It is much appreciated.
The blue jays never travel alone and when one or several are feeding, it seems that one is always keeping watch. And when the watch-bird sounds the alarm, all the birds, squirrels and chipmunks scatter.

......of these GREAT EGRETS were killed around the end of the 19th century so that their plumes (feathers) could be used to decorate HATS. (Sanibel Island, Florida)
Interesting Facts:This bird has been chosen as the symbol of the National Audubon Society, which was formed in part to prevent the killing of birds for their feathers.(Wikipedia).
