While I was visiting Comstock, Ferre, & Co, Jere Gettle, the owner of Baker Creek, happened to be there as well (what are the chances?). We chatted for a while and he told me all about their plans for the future for Comstock, Ferre & Co. They're hoping to turn the grounds into a show garden and the store will focus on heirloom varieties from New England. They plan on using the grounds for community and educational events.

The Santan Freeway Loop 202 is in the southeast valley of Phoenix. This billboard is between I-10 and the Price Freeway Loop 101 in Chandler. Onsite Insite offers the only billboards along a 23-mile stretch of the Santan Freeway.
Memorial Day holiday weekend brings the start to summer tourism in Galveston, it's also the
opening for the new Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier for waterfront fun on the Gulf Coast. The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier will jut out 1,000 feet over the surf at 25th Street, where the original Pleasure Pier stood from 1943 until it was destroyed by Hurricane Carla in 1961. More recently, it was the site of the Flagship, an over-the-water hotel built in 1965 that was demolished after 2008's Hurricane Ike. The much-anticipated destination boasts a theme park of family attractions, with rides, games of chance and skill, entertainment, food venues and retail shops. With an exclusive sneak peek
beginning with the 2012 Memorial Day weekend, 13 of the 16 rides will be operating.
The Texas-sized pier is 120 feet-wide and 1,130 feet-long. The Pleasure Pier, developed by Landry's, stands on the location of the former Flagship hotel, over the Gulf of Mexico from
25th Street at the Galveston Seawall. Guests will find dining, rides, games and entertainment throughout the year. Texas' first Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. opens Thursday, May 24, 2012 featuring seafood dining. Its food-to-go option, Gump on the Run, is located alongside.

We were originally going to wait for a bus towards the South Bank, in the Bloomsbury / Holborn area, but the route we wanted didn't come (delayed or re-routed).
So we ended up walking to the South Bank instead, via Covent Garden.
We were on Bloomsbury Way.
Boris bus - new Routemaster - this time mostly looking out for the buses with other colours, usually with advertising (instead of the red ones).

The "captured" cow most likely got the attention of many a Southaven resident (and others). It won't take long at all for this too become quite busy once again.

...is now open for business.
Every July in every highway leading out of town, there is a large gravel lot that is not used 11 months of the year. It is the prime real estate for Fireworks tents. This one is I-24 in LaVergne at the exit for Waldron Rd.
Everybody's fireworks are 70% off, so that doesn't make anybody's sales price better than anyone else. If a fireworks stand had a big sign that said 10% off, nobody would stop there. The only other industry that works this way is Jewelry
A new home furniture store that opened in Kirkland, Washington, in the Totem Lake Mall. (Remember it?) Anyway, I think this is the first new store to open in some time, at least the past couple of years.
Entrepreneurs are doing great things in downtown Flint.
This building, across from the renovated Berridge Hotel Apartments, houses both Hoffman's Deco Deli and the Carriage Town Antique Center.

Yes Catford has a new pub and its not from Antic. It has three real ales available and the kitchen is opening soon, maybe on Friday?
It's run by Dave who has come hot foot from running the Prince of Wales in Pimlico. In fact Catford is the new Pimlico - perhaps.

The first thing I noticed about this place is the large storefront and the tiny business name sign. But, I was amazed that there could be a store of all jerky.
A friend of mine stopped here and got 4oz. of kangaroo jerky for $10.
Today the eastbound side of the new Intracoastal Waterway Bridge at Jacksonville Beach opened to traffic. Although I did not come to the beach (on my job) this way I did leave across it. This time I pulled the van over and got out and took the shot!
Interestingly enough they are still raising and lowering the old bridges for boat traffic as opposed to leaving them up all the time. Don't know what's up with that. In fact right after I took this pic I saw them being raised as I drove across the new one.
Still don't know if the new bridge will bear the name of the old one, the B. B. McCormick Bridge. Whenever I find out I will update the info.
The existing bridges will be demolished and a second bridge will be built where they are.
