The House of Mirth: Friday!

I didn't take any before pictures, because they were just a pair of men's business trousers, and we all know what they look like! This is what I did:
1) Cut off the legs
2) Cut the scallop at the front
3) Made bias binding out of the fabric from legs
4) Sewed bias binding to the hem and blind hemmed it
5) Hand sewed white lace trim (what I had left over from my chemise top) onto the pockets and the scallop
6) Replaced generic plastic buttons with vintage glass buttons (also left over from chemise top)

(Our Daily Challenge - NOTE)
(112 in 2012 - #47 - FIVE)
It's hard to believe how fast time flies and to realize that I've been volunteering with my dog Hope for 5 years now. She was only 2 years old when we started and I had no idea what I was doing. We have blossomed as a team and a couple of years ago, my other dog Nick started as a volunteer too. I can honestly say that I have gotten back way more than I've given and this "work" keeps me grounded even though we've lost many patients along the way. But, on the other hand, it makes me feel blessed for my family and friends and all the things I have in life. I hope that my dogs have touched the lives of just some of the people we've met along the way....
Probably the best and easiest way to keep artist's notes is to use a Wordpress blog.

At Xmas, Mum gifted me a random swag of old photo gear from her wardrobe. I found this guide in the pocket of one of the bags remembering that I wrote this out to help Mum with her now kaput G5. I actually found it a little hard to follow looking at it today.
On November 7, 2018 NEC employees from our office in Irving joined with representative from the City of Irving, Copart, Winston Homes, and members of the local community to put “Notes of Love” on the studs of the mortgage-free home being given to American #hero, U.S. Army Major Eric King, and his family. NEC employees and the local community wrote inspirational words of support and encouragement that were attached to or written on the studs of the unfinished home before the drywall is installed.
Later in the day, Maj. King walked through the home to see the building progress and the positive expressions left for he and his family. It was truly a touching moment.
The NEC Foundation of America supports Operation FINALLY HOME, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to building homes for wounded, ill or injured #veterans, surviving spouses and their families.
