In time, the hurt began to fade and it was easier to just let it go. At least I thought it was. But in every boy I met in the next few years, I found myself looking for you, and when the feelings got too strong, I'd write you another letter. But I never sent them for fear of what I might find. By then, you'd gone on with your life and I didn't want to think about you loving someone else. I wanted to remember us like we were that summer. I didn't ever want to lose that.

Made with Kona cotton solid and with some fabric from a swap with Brooke. She sent me an envelope full of beautiful fabrics last year. Thanks Brooke!

My first swap ever! Sent to snarglebean in NY. We had to decorate a notebook, both inside and out, according to our partner's tastes - zine style. I filled the notebooks with cut outs, packing tape transfers, quotes, lyrics and added some stickers I thought she would like (fishies and cats! Hah natural enemies).

Also sent a card which I got from Frankie magazine - cute illustrations done by young Australian artists.

Notebook sketch. Mechanical pencil. Photoshopped a little for color. love her right foot, not so happy with the other. i erased her legs twice searching for a believable pose.

I imagine she's on a kitchen table, with her foot on a chair. She needs an apron (with lace trim!) and a scarf. Also a bowl with a spoon in it next to her. We'll see if I get ambitious.
