Many artists keep track of their views and thoughts in a notebook. Have a look at this informative video about her workflow to see how it works for A.K. Dolven. The same video with English subtitles: Time is material
Taken for Macro Mondays' theme: Paper.
The top edge of a notebook in which I keep track of my life.

effects of caffeine on my brain, explained visually.
Caffeine is a bitter, white crystalline xanthine alkaloid that is a psychoactive stimulant drug.
Four times a year, at the end of each quarter, the notebooks are collected and graded. Of course I want to see everthing --- class notes, vocabulary sheets, cultural info, verb info, tape recorded practice sheets --- everthing completed and in the specified order. Now is that asking too much?
It takes a while to grade the notebooks, but it is worth the time and effort, and I feel good knowing that, when the students leave me, they have a great "resource of information" to use in future Spanish classes.

Strobist info:
The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights positioned 45° CL and 90° CR, one-foot above and two-feet away from the subject. The speedlights were fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄32 power through Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes.
The SB900s were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X triggers.

A Simple Pleasure of mine. A good fountain pen, and a notebook.
I used to collect quotes and sayings - bits of philosophy - and illustrations too. This notebook is full of Zen and Taoist sayings. It made a small book I could carry with me when I travelled, and could add to. I used to have several, but most have been lost over the years. This one is still with me ;o)
Shot using the Helios 44-2 lens at min focussing distance of 0.5 F2.8.
