If I wrote a note to God

I would speak whats in my soul

I'd ask for all the hate to be swept away,

For love to overflow

If I wrote a note to God

I'd pour my heart out on each page

I'd ask for war to end

For peace to mend this world

I'd say, I'd say, I'd say

Give us the strength to make it through

Help us find love cause love is over due

And it looks like we haven't got a clue

Need some help from you

Grant us the faith to carry on

Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone

Cause it seems like so much is goin wrong

On this road we're on

If I wrote a note to God

I would say what on my mind

I'd ask for wisdom to let compassion rule this world

Until these times

If I wrote a note to God

I'd say please help us find our way

End all the bitterness, put some tenderness in our hearts...

Western Wall (Kotel), Jewish Quarter, Old City, Jerusalem, Israel

"Part of the western retaining wall of the Temple Mount, the Western Wall was built by Herod the Great during his expansion of the Temple in 20 BCE. The wall became the Jews' chief place of pilgrimage during the Ottoman Period. In this period it become known as the 'Wailing Wall', where Jews lamented the destruction of the Temple by the Romans in AD 70. This is still the closest site to the Temple where Jews can pray (many rabbis say Jews are currently forbidden by Jewish law from ascending the Temple Mount, and in any case secular and Muslim authorities do not allow Jews to pray on the Temple Mount). The plaza in front of the Wall is divided by a fence, with a large area for men on the left and a smaller area for women on the right.... The wall acts as an outdoor synagogue with written prayers inserted into the crevices between the large stones." (source)

Note: shortly after I uploaded this photo, one of my long-suffering, loyal Flickr friends "faved" this photo -- so I've changed its status to "public."

**************************

After I finished my class at the International Center of Photography (ICP) on a Saturday afternoon in late March 2014, I arranged to meet my wife for dinner at a wonderful little restaurant in Greenwich Village called Alexandra's (no, I won't tell you where: Google it if you're curious).

That required taking the IRT subway from Times Square down to Sheridan Square in Greenwich Village -- just a couple blocks from where I first lived when I arrived in NYC back in 1968.

I had to walk down to the corner of Grove Street in order to navigate west over to the restaurant (no, I still won't tell you where it is), and when I came to the corner, I smiled at a familiar sight: the Big Gay ice cream shop.

But the weather today was somewhat milder than it has been during this long cold winter, and equally brutal cold spring, and there were lots of people in the mood for ice cream. I thought they looked very photogenic indeed, so I pulled my camera out of the bag and stood on the corner for a long while, snapping pictures of just about everyone who came out of the store. These are some of the more interesting ones, I think ...

Despite the long time spent photographing (as well as several other stops at Bleecker Street, Bedford Street, and Barrow Street (jeez, if you can't figure out where Alexandra's is at this point, you should cash in your chips and go home!), , I was still early arriving at the restaurant. C'est la vie.

Yes let's meet autumn as our mid-autumn festival is coming! Things do converge mysteriously with or without you knowing or seeing, finding the connections is no big achievement but brings small pleasures to our lives.

I was in Seoul 2 weeks ago meeting Mr. Nam who's company Appree just launched "Leaf-it" and already shipped to Japan's Marcs International for distribution. The leaf post-it comes in 8 different types, each with various sizes and colors of leaves. I hope they are coming to our stores soon.

Two days ago I received a Mackinaw Autumn package from Field Notes, another hint of autumn coming, in colors I'm so very in love with. I regret that I missed their summer collection (Butcher Orange, Butcher Blue, Grass Stain Green). Hmmm.... so Tradio Nature just came to me, Leaf-it and Mackinaw Autumn are both on my desk now, they are all here to set something in motion, the welcoming of our 3,000 years old tradition, mid-autumn festival.

Tasty moon cakes await us, beautiful lanterns hanging all over the places, family gathering dinner and Chiu Chau tea ceremony at home..... such a pleasant anticipation. I particularly like what the shops do on Queen's Road West, about 5-6 stores normally selling incense for worship now hang hundreds of lanterns so beautifully which lighten up the streets. I was there with family on Sunday night, people were there lingering in such warm atmosphere. Tomorrow we will definitely go the park with our lanterns.

PS. My son told me something funny this evening: "God has no time to talk to us, because he has to make up some homework for us, so God is very difficult and we have to thank Him". Where did he get the ideas?

Valentine's day is upon us. Such a beautiful day with a gentle reminder for us to have a no complain relationship and not to use our fault finding mind. Let life happens in your relationship, go with the wave and laugh along side with it. After all, It's caring that is important in a relationship.

I am missing my mister dearly and his special Sunday morning comfort food. What an important part of my life he has been and continues to be. I definitely miss his goofy trot and our early morning routine.

Happy Valentine's weekend sweet friends.

Bring on the pancakes and sausages.

Love to you and yours.

Constelaciones, auroras, galaxias, eso siento en mi pecho cuando tus manos bordean mi cintura, cuando nuestras bocas están cercanas pero no se tocan, cuando somos uno solo en el universo. eres mio aunque no seas de nadie.

Meh - one day when I really wish I wasn't doing a 365.

Great evening at the cinema - saw "Paul".... the Alien movie by Simon Pegg & Nick Frost. Many laugh out loud, tears in the eyes moments in the film.... although I suspect only geeks will think this.

This was the second film we saw this week ... On Monday we saw "The King's Speech" - An awesome & moving film.

Two cinema visits in one week...... Normally we only see two a year!
