Why does it appear to have exploded from the inside?

Future Wars according to the Book of Doom

Or just posing figures on hand. Finally had some good lighting to work with.

Thinking of making scale dioramas with LEGO in the future.

I was rather impressed by the lustre of their gold plastic. Difficult to photograph, it was 'richer' than LEGO's somehow, less yellow perhaps? More metallic? I need to dig up some real parts to compare.

This is the cover art for my latest novel. Now it's published, I'm going to get back to building some LEGO stuff - I clearly only have room in my head for one creative endeavour at a time!

If you think you might fancy a good old-fashioned adventure story with a dash of steam-driven sci-fi, check it out.

The book is available in both ebook and print at Amazon. I'd link to it, but the Flickr terms won't let me!

If you do give it a go, I'd love to hear what you think.

Well, this be awesome.

Page 10 from the instruction manual and the sticker sheet.

poor confused french tourists... caught with my bike and a raccoon sculpture. I had no choice but to press the shutter button.

I don't think they had to pay the likeness rights for this portrait.

Tom Skerrit was the highest-billed actor in the movie. Hah.

I made this for my Facebook profile. I kinda like it.

Strobist : SB-800 on the background with a turquiose gel. Another SB-800 up high in a Speedlight Pro reflector. I forget the ratios, they changed a lot.

Lots of moving parts, plenty of posability.

Bugs! He's a ton of bugs!

Rear of the Mk. 46 suit. There are loads of various flip-up and fold-away parts on this that make it great fun to pose and tweak.

Front detail of the mask and helmet. Alignment here is spot on, with both eyes and outlines being printed directly onto the ridge/eye sockets. Solid white ink looks good.

Wandering across the dreamscape.

My friends and I went to a magical place called "Super H-Mart" today. It's some kind of Asian market, I think Korean.

We found these knock offs in a small toy shop. I instantly picked them up for giggles. They had a whole selection of all the cool '90s themes, from Aquaraiders, to City, to Mars Mission, to Pirates, to Rock Raiders (but no cool drill bits).

The plastic feels like crap (of course), the minifigs are somewhat translucent in the yellow parts (of course), the hands don't even go all the way in (of course), and the studs look just naked without the official "LEGO" stamped in them (or course).

BUT

Check out that chrome saber! Totally worth it!

This is the third character I've built using the "Tenteñeco" template, and it follows it quite closely. Tente blocks have the same size than Lego blocks, so the same relationship between studs and plates exist. The logo is an example of this: 5 plates equals 2 studs.

Back of the box, the SY logo spot varnished onto a matt white sleeve.

Well, more like just one castle. And yes, I do play minecraft. This was done on SURVIVAL MODE not creative mode. So it took a while to collect all of the wood that I used, plus to refine all of the stone blocks.

I'll also probably post a picture of my town (in this world) as well.

I will have some more Lego eventually.

It's been a while since I uploaded something non-Lego and not related to MSH or walls, so here's some clouds. I took this while sitting at traffic lights on the way home yesterday before a huge apocalyptic storm arrived. I don't think I've ever seen so much lightning.

Just like red and black ants, right? Riiiiight?

Detail of the embossing, which is then spot varnished to make it look shiny and glossy. Really superb packaging - this stuff isn't cheap to do in the west!

You are enlightened.

So yeah, I recently found out that I have a registered 'eye condition'. I always figured it was just microscopic dirt on my eye or something. Oh well, it doesn't bother me much and they only rarely even show themselves, still a bit surprising though...

.

So yeah, this isn't LEGO. Sorry for that. I probably won't be building much for a while since I have this to sort out, as well as having to work on a huge-ish history assignment. :/

I am, however, hoping to get a mech done in time for Mechahub's for Armored April and then find time for some bigger MOCs again (which has been a while, August last year, actually).

"I kild a man with my beaя hands. Beaя hands. Get it? ...*gяunt*. Stupid Ameяican capitalists."

This is the last superhero I made, though it was one I had in mind since the very beginning. I've always liked the green/black combination a lot; in fact, I realized how good both looked together when playing with my old Tente bricks as a child. Unfortunately, green missiles are very scarce -just one in one set- and I don't have any. There is one episode of Superman: The Animated Series where Green Lantern is introduced and has a different colour scheme, which is the one I have used. It looks nice, but I'm sure the green boots would have looked much better.
