every branch, every twip and pine needle was clothed, almost weighed down, with snow. Snow that clung to the form underneath and sparkled in the sunlight, so the whole woods seemed to be winking at you.

And this is the reason for the construction of the new bridge. The old bridge was washed about a hundred meters downstream. The creek bed is dry right now, but it flows pretty fast during spring run-off.
We accidentally got too close to her chicks and she went snakey on us. She flew into me, hitting me hard in the chest. We got the heck out of there.
