Smoke lady spirit...
My first time having a go at smoke trails. My challenge was "spirit" this week so I went for an ethereal vapour, I totally did not expect a human shape to appear but I am very pleased.
Settings were full manual mode, decently closed aperture, fastest shutter to go with the flash. Times like this I wish my camera was more than 6megapixels but still came out well.
My latest chiropractic adventure involved being hooked up to a Decompressor, to stretch out my spine and give my vertebrae more room for the fluid between the discs to normalize.

These are "100%" crops (actually I had to reduce the size of my scan a bit due to using a slightly higher DPI).
At left is a scan delivered from my lab, supposedly with "no adjustments" (and none added by me, except for rotation). I think it's sharpened to death, and possibly has auto-contrast turned on.
At right is a scan from my CanoScan 9000F, no adjustments. I think it has better tones out of the box. However, it has less apparent detail than the lab scan. I wonder if that's the super-sharpening talking?

Herbal Earth Subtle differences in shades of green in this animation reflect vegetation conditions worldwide. High values of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, or NDVI, represent dense green functioning vegetation, and low NDVI values represent sparse green vegetation or vegetation under stress from limiting conditions, such as drought. This still image is a snapshot of the Earth created from a year’s worth of data from April 2012 to April 2013. The information was sent back to Earth from the Visible-Infrared Imager/Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument aboard the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership or Suomi NPP satellite, a partnership between NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA. #nasa #nasagoddard #HerbalEarth #earth via nasagoddard bit.ly/103yBOD

1. SI: People have learned to normalize the bad state of streets and communal spaces, leading to a scarcity of caring to fix them.
2. Materials: Digital Camera; Lightroom; Wall, empty doorbell hole (52)
3. Idea: I wanted to show a wall of cracking paint and emphasize a hole to nowhere. (75)
4. Process: I put the subject in the center, then turned up the texture and down the shadows. (81)

I think ImageMagick's color-normalizing went a little overboard here, I'll try to correct it later.

May 3, 2016: Over the last six months, risks to global financial stability have risen, according to the International Monetary Fund’s April 2016 Global Financial Stability Report. In advanced economies, the outlook has deteriorated because of heightened uncertainty and setbacks to growth and confidence. Disruptions to global asset markets have added to these pressures. Declines in oil and commodity prices have kept risks elevated in emerging markets, while greater uncertainty about China’s growth transition has increased spillovers to global markets. These developments tightened financial conditions, reduced risk appetite, and raised credit risks, weighing on financial stability. The situation in markets appears significantly improved, but is the turmoil of the past months now safely behind us, or is it a warning signal that more needs to be done to secure financial stability? The IMF’s April 2016 GFSR addresses this key question and many others.

June and July 2018 Afrho data for comet C/2017 S3 (PANSTARRS) from the Cometas-Obs
Yahoo Group when normalized to zero phase now two outbursts of activity on July 1, 2018 and July 15, 2018.
The second outburst is much stronger than the first outburst.
There has been an increasing trend in dust production before and after the July 1, 2018 outburst.
On July 16, 2018, the data show the second outburst may not have peaked.
The phase angle increased from 27 to 57 degrees during this time period.
Solar distance to the comet has decreased from 1.7 to 0.92 AU.
The comet is interior to Earth's orbit.
Thanks especially to the observers who have provded data.
