The blooms are just starting. So no butterfly visits yet.

I was just ready to take a macro shot of these two flowers when the hover fly landed for about 2 seconds which allowed me 2 shots. This was the best.

Bowden Doors are a set of rocky outcrops much favoured by the boulderers.

Me, I like them because they are dripping with atmosphere, excellent rock formations, superb views with so much hidden archaeological and mythological significance it's just a smashingly fine and more or less unsung place. It seemed worth making a visit up there to wave some lights about.

No complaints from the spirits of the ancestors.

"Cake or death?" That's a pretty easy question. Anyone could answer that.

"Cake or death?"

"Eh, cake please."

"Very well! Give him cake!"

"Oh, thanks very much. It's very nice."

"You! Cake or death?"

"Uh, cake for me, too, please."

"Very well! Give him cake, too! We're gonna run out of cake at this rate.

You! Cake or death?"

"Uh, death, please. No, cake! Cake! Cake, sorry. Sorry..."

"You said death first, ah-ha, ah-ha, death first!"

"Well, I meant cake!"

"Oh, all right. You're lucky I'm Church of England!"

... this is one of those rare moments when I'm shooting in the monochrome mode. I generally shoot in the colour mode, because I love colour 😊😊

My theme for 2016 is: 52 months in a year.

I took this photo in February of 2009.

These will be gone in a short time so I've decided to take advantage of the super duper colors.

Took this shot ages ago, in an old medieval mortuary house in Alnmouth, Northumberland, UK.

Then suffered full on hard disk failure. But now it's been recovered. So I'm uploading it as Flickr serves as a very good way to make online backups of jpegs.

The mirror alignment needs to be sorted here. And some more faffing to find the optimum position for the lens to get more parallel reflections. But it's a decent start.

More of this sort of thing, but with added awful jpeg compression: www.facebook.com/pages/Lightpaintingorguk/517424921642831

The rose bushes are pumping out thousands of buds and flowers. This is a very colorful and bountiful year for flowers and my favorite flowering weeds.
