I crossed the Aare, the river that flows through the city of Bern, on a small ferry. While doing so, this tree on the other bank caught my eye and attracted my interest.

The outside area of Mercer Street Dancehall in Dripping Springs, Texas. I went to Dripping Sunday for there Founders Day Festival and had a great time. Most of the festivals I go to, the music doesn't start until really late in the day. But, at this one the music was already going when I got there at 10:30 am. I like to beat the crowds..;)
Strongly sunlit houses with drop shadows and laundry have always attracted me. I took this photo on a walk last August and have been experimenting with it ever since.
On our excursion through the north of Sri Lanka we saw many such dead palm trees in swamp areas. I imagine that the palm trees have drowned after the water level has risen.
