Anyone who has tried to take a photo of a Southern nodding trillium might appreciate how difficult a task this is! It was a terribly windy day and I took this hand-held with a friend gently tilting the flower back. Amazing what a camera can do under such difficult circumstances!

Pareidolia: a face in a tree root among mosses. An owl, perhaps? Or, no wink, but a fish hiding in seaweed?
And here's another joke, this time on me: two consecutive photos in my stream, of very different subjects, but with identical compositions, taken three minutes apart, as it turns out. I was really thinking diagonally during that walk in the woods!
I am sure you have all seen the news about the tornadoes in Oklahoma USA, well I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it, I am out in Oklahoma at the moment storm chasing, we saw 4 tornadoes yesterday (Sunday) one of which was a massive F4, None of us expected these storms to be like this, they are so powerful at the moment. Sometimes I am not sure if we are chasing the storms or the storms are chasing us.
Such a shame about the loss of life today.

Carduus nutans, introduced and naturalizing in the Piedmont counties of South Carolina. A report from the sandhills (Lexington County) suggests that it is capable of expanding its range toward the coast.
March was designated as the Kokeshi Doll free month for me after being bitten by the Kokeshi bug. And 1 April I stumbled upon a few nodding ones and picked this one to reward me for being kokeshi-free for a whole month. And have a few more coming in soon *grins* But yes, I will space them out of course...

I'm so very happy that I don't have to drive much any more. Public transport is so awesome! You can catch a nap if you're tired!
Ghetto lighting: Headband torch light on right.

You don't need a water tank in Holland,
and certainly not on a 5 story building.
It's a folly, a nod to the skyscrapers in New York,
in line with the spirit of the whole area...
