Outside Zurich, there is a well-known shopping centre around which many modern office buildings have been built, the variety of which can be directly described as experimental by the architecturally conservative Zurich. I have worked on one of the buildings here. At first it seemed aesthetically sensible to me to depict the surroundings in black, because the red I chose for the window frames was rather dark and subdued. This gave the picture a night-time feel. When I'm working on a picture, I largely let myself drift, so the result is often random and subconscious.

This time again a digitally composed picture, but still beautiful! A shot of the sunrise on our house beach, with dark clouds, which only lets the light peek out, but obscures the rising sun. The shot was ideal for creating the impression of camera movement with Gaussian blur only in the x-direction. But the effect is fundamentally different. While ICM by hand always has a random line of motion, the method of Gaussian blurring provides a dead straight "line of motion", which is also quite appealing.
