Terminal 5, New York, NY
Final two Nine Inch Nails performances in New York City, both at Terminal 5. Built to outwardly look like a high-security prison and a gaudy industrial nightclub inside, Terminal 5 held approximately 3,000 people. Each night the venues were increasingly hotter than the previous night. While these two Terminal 5 shows were not specifically nin.com presale (ie. hardcore fans shared the space with bro-dudes and fairweather fans alike), not one complaint can be heard from my mouth. Okay, maybe one small complaint: the ceiling was literally dripping on those on the 2nd floor balcony during the last night.
Worth noting: Tuesday night, Peter Murphy joined the band onstage for Reptile and a cover of Bauhaus' Kick in the Eye. About halfway through Reptile, Murphy flubbed on the lyrics, singing the chorus about 30 seconds too early while the verse was still going on. He made up for his mistake (although a delayed reaction) by screaming in the microphone. When we saw Murphy enter the venue around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, those in line wondered if he was just observing the show or if he had something in mind, possibly to coat over his mistake during the previous night's performance. And, oh, what a surprise he had in store. During the second encore, Murphy was lowered and held upside down from the ceiling, and sang Reptile perfectly despite the blood rushing to his head. At the very end of Reptile, Murphy latched onto Trent's arms; through the heat-infused, heavy fog and blinding stage lights, the two entangled truly embodied the word "Reptile."

Youre going to get what you deserve.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
Id rather die than give you control."

For the Week 5 theme in 365: The 2013 Edition.
In this place it seems like such a shame.
Though it all looks different now,
I know it's still the same
Everywhere I look you're all I see.
Just a fading f* reminder of who I used to be.
