Grand Rapids, MI. November 15, 2008.
taken with my brother's Sony point & shoot.
posted because my husband and I were feeling nostalgic the other night, and missing the days of being able to hit the road and go to concerts in random cities all the time.
IMO the strangest CD cover/pase I've ever seen... A maxi-case with a booklet in a cardboard case:

Trent Reznor was my hero in high school. Somehow I've managed to hang onto this three-inch mini disc that came with early versions of "Broken" for all of these years. The disc features "You're So Physical" and "Suck" two tracks that would be added to later version of the disc as tracks 98 and 99.
A parody of the movie "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past." Featured on the Daily Cuntpunch entry "Superfluous Summer Special."

BTW, the Soundwave organisers deserve a stabbing! 2 and a half hours in the queue to get in! Where's my partial refund eh? The organisers stupidity or cost cutting cost _me_ 20% of the value of my ticket. Soundwave Sucks bigtime.

Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, 2013

Located in San Francisco's renown Golden Gate Park, Outside Lands is a fan-favorite music and arts festival that spans three days and attracts over 200,000 people from around the world.
For the second year in a row, Ben & Jerry's is a sponsor of the festival --where we dish-out thousands of free samples (and smiles!) as a thanks to our fans and neighbors who attend the festival.
New for 2013, we did our "Thumbs-up for Fairtrade" activation, where we ask our fans to give their thumbs-up for Fairtrade and the three main benefits of supporting Fairtrade purchases: Environmental Sustainability, Social Justice and a Fair Global Economy.
We met a lot of committed folks who appreciated our Fairtrade efforts, and also had a chance to provide some newer understanding about Fairtrade to those who weren't familiar with the benefits of Fairtrade.
When we weren't busy with hanging with our fans at our tent, we danced our you-know-whats off to some of the great music at the festival; including: Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Jurassic 5, Pretty Lights, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Gary Clark Jr., Trombone Shorty, Band of Horses, Vampire Weekend, Nine Inch Nails, The National and Phoenix. And that's not even half of the artists that played the festival!
If you joined us in the park, thanks for coming by! And if you missed us or the festival, hopefully we'll meet next time.
Cheers!!

I took this picture of my computer screen while it was playing the awesomest pirated DVD ever that my ultra cool friend in the U.S. of A. hooked me up with: Nine Inch Nails at Woodstock 1994.
So good.

Terminal 5, New York, NY
Final two Nine Inch Nails performances in New York City, both at Terminal 5. Built to outwardly look like a high-security prison and a gaudy industrial nightclub inside, Terminal 5 held approximately 3,000 people. Each night the venues were increasingly hotter than the previous night. While these two Terminal 5 shows were not specifically nin.com presale (ie. hardcore fans shared the space with bro-dudes and fairweather fans alike), not one complaint can be heard from my mouth. Okay, maybe one small complaint: the ceiling was literally dripping on those on the 2nd floor balcony during the last night.
Worth noting: Tuesday night, Peter Murphy joined the band onstage for Reptile and a cover of Bauhaus' Kick in the Eye. About halfway through Reptile, Murphy flubbed on the lyrics, singing the chorus about 30 seconds too early while the verse was still going on. He made up for his mistake (although a delayed reaction) by screaming in the microphone. When we saw Murphy enter the venue around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, those in line wondered if he was just observing the show or if he had something in mind, possibly to coat over his mistake during the previous night's performance. And, oh, what a surprise he had in store. During the second encore, Murphy was lowered and held upside down from the ceiling, and sang Reptile perfectly despite the blood rushing to his head. At the very end of Reptile, Murphy latched onto Trent's arms; through the heat-infused, heavy fog and blinding stage lights, the two entangled truly embodied the word "Reptile."
