New resting platform added at marina bay river side end of 2015 by The Singapore National Heritage Board is part of the Map of the Jubilee Walk covering the jubilee bridge, Fort Canning Hill and Marina Bay. There should be a cloud sculpture call " Cloud Nine: Raining” that float over the Singapore River on the left hand side of this photo, but it float away too far left side, couldn't included in my 17mm frame. These are the artworks created to mark Singapore's 50th birthday and reflect the country’s heritage and its nation-building journey.

Neolithic stone circle, (each about 3 ft. high, circle is 33 ft. in diameter), c. 2000-1000 BC; according to legend, the nine standing stones are witches caught dancing on the Sabbath to the sounds of the Devil's fiddle playing. I've been feeling very low motivation lately with exams and final projects on the near horizon, a lot of my looks in SL have reflected on that in monotone colours, black and whites, and simple accents.

When I got this cute little mod I knew I had to use it as it mirrored a lot of my own moods so perfectly well, and I'll always take any excuse to use the old Paws Feline head honestly.

The 60-ton construction shows a house of cards made of nine concrete play cards and has a scale of thirty five feet high and nineteen and a half feet wide. The construction is literally as big as a house.

The traditional images on the cards are replaced by a selection of historical figures, world leaders and dictators. The selected images and the shape of the cards are being presented as a metaphor for the fragile construction of different political, philosophical and religious views on mankind and worldviews. The used materials and the “concrete walls” then refer to the historical and current political use of walls to ‘shield the indigenous population’ and to protect them for ‘foreign influences’. With these forms, the selected images and the material used, the artwork remind us of the great human suffering that arises from dogma and dictatorship and highlights the need for global cooperation and reconciliation.

When I think of light, I think of information. Light is the information our visual system uses to function. Our brains interpret this information in ways that allow us to function in our environment. The processing of this information in our brains is specific to us, having evolved with us through the millennia to be to our survival advantage. The way our brains process this information gives us our view of the world.

We are not perfect. There is overhead involved in processing this information to make it useful to our survival. We actually see the world with a slight time delay due to the amount of time it takes our eyes and brains to gather this information and interpret it for us to use.

Additionally, we only see a small percentage of the electromagnetic spectrum as visible light. Imagine being able to see radio waves, micro waves, ultraviolet waves, and all the other forms of the spectrum. Think about how much processing power our brains would have to use to make that happen. And imagine the delay that would have to occur in order for us to use that information.

So I thought I would add a little additional information to the light I used to side light this 9 ball.

There were some amazing errors in Six panoramic images I posted,

Errors Included Seven Photographs of a Cairn into One panorama to create Six pictures of the South Western Cairn at Balnuaran of Clava

www.flickr.com/photos/phhsykes/albums/72177720312289431

This note about the changes is partly here for me to remind myself which pictures had tree branches sprouting freely in the sky held there by clouds alone, amongst other bad edit signs glowing, flashing, jumping and screaming at me the editor that was obviously not in a good edit place.

The was singing quietly and I joined in as I saw the wonders opening up before me. Photoshop and I were suggesting ideas and the cairn was still an old, old song and so it went on. Then after colour and mono leaving out people and enhancing light and shade it was time for two paintings to be made. Suddenly Six versions are ready and the song goes with them to share with you wherever you are.

We came across a large pride of lions that was just finished eating the nights kill of a large Kudu. After the meal members of the pride made their way to a watering hole just over the hill. This shot is of nine siblings taking their turn drinking- there are only eight heads, but the ninth is hidden behind the last one on the far right.

From www.visitcumbria.com/evnp/nine-standards

"Nine Standards Rigg takes its name from the line of cairns which stand on the edge of the escarpment just north of the summit. The origin of the nine “stone men” or columnar cairns on the summit, is a mystery, and some of the cairns, which are about 10 feet tall, are now in a perilous state. According to Wainwright, whose Coast to Coast route crosses the fell, they are very ancient and are marked on 18th century maps. One theory is that they were constructed by the Roman army to look like troops from a distance."
