It’s the Star of the show!
While most sea stars generally only have 5 arms, this sea star has 9! The nine-armed sea star (Luidia senegalensis) can be found in sandy or muddy lagoons near the Florida coast, Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea, and in the Atlantic Ocean. This nine-armed starfish is both a scavenger and a predator that mainly feeds on polychaete worms, crustaceans, and mollusks. They can consume their prey whole, turn their stomachs inside out, and completely cover their prey while digesting it slowly. If you ever see one of these sea creatures crawling on the beach, it can be a terrifying and cool experience watching all nine arms glide along the sand!

Nine Upper School choral students traveled over Masters Break to Germany, where they performed in historic churches, met German students and worshiped with a German congregation.
This is a companion to the sets San Francisco Shoes and Los Angeles Shoes. When I first moved to Paris in January 2011, I thought there were fewer abandoned shoes here, but they are popping up with more frequency.
The collection began when my friend Willis Barnstone noted, as we walked one chilly October night in 2007, how many shoes were abandoned on the street in San Francisco. I took it as a mission to chronicle the orphans.
