St. John Vianney Parish in Saginaw, hosted the area Vacation Bible School, “Hometown Nazareth: “Where Jesus Was a Kid” July 20 to 24. Nine parishes and Nouvel Catholic Elementary School collaborated to make the week's activities possible.
The nine parishes were: From Saginaw, Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, Christ the Good Shepherd, St. Dominic, Holy Family, St. John Vianney, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Holy Spirit, Shields, St. John Paul II, Carrollton, and St. John XXIII, Hemlock.
The planning committee met for several months to organize an exciting week of learning about Jesus and his times. Roberta Conley and several youth led opening and closing songs each day. Children traveled in groups as one of the 12 Tribes of Israel making several stops throughout the week: to visit a synagogue school led by a “rabbi” acted each day by one of our local clergy dressed in costume; to stop by Mary’s home, hosted by storyteller Nancy Nizinski; to shop in the marketplace at the carpenter’s shop, the jewelry shop, the fruit and vegetable shop, and the bakery. They also went to the petting zoo which featured sheep, goats, and Carmen the donkey.
Approximately 150 children attended, while about 60 youth in grades 7 through 12 who volunteered to help lead the small groups.
This is the second year our parish faith formation. The multi-parish collaboration was a great experience of sharing resources and talents.

When I read about the Ros9 as it was introduced by Niner last summer, I knew pretty much immediately it was what I wanted in a bike. I love the EMD9 I was riding, but I missed having something with a little more boing out on the Wissahickon. Boing is what this bike has, for sure.

Sorry, this is as good as it gets for full quilt shots. Husband was gone and the little ones aren't tall enough to hold it up :) Wish you could see the fabrics better. I LOVE them--all 126!!

Introduction to the Nine Emperor GodsThe Nine Emperor Gods Jiǔ Huáng Xīng Jūn / Jiǔ Huáng Da Di (九皇星君/九皇大帝) are the nine sons manifested by Father Emperor Zhou Yu Dou Fu Yuan Jun (斗父周御國王天尊) and Mother of the Big Dipper Dou Mu Yuan Jun (斗母元君) who holds the Registrar of Life and Death. The worship of Dou Fu Yuan Jun has declined strongly as proper teachings of Taoism degenerate since being exported out of China. Today, most Nine Emperor God temples do not acknowledge the existence of Dou Fu Yuan Jun. However, Dou Fu Yuan Jun is invoked alongside Dou Mu Yuan Jun in Great Dipper Honouring known as Li Dou (禮斗) ceremonies. According To Priest Long Hua, the 35th Generation Leader of Long Shan Men Taoist Sect (Singapore), honouring the Northern Dipper stars prolongs one's life, eliminate calamities, and absolves sins and past debts of oneself and his family.The term Ye (爺) as in Jiu Huang Ye (九皇爺) loosely translates as "Grandfather", a title worshipers commonly use to bring a more intimate relationship between themselves and the Nine Emperors. The Nine Emperor Gods should not be mixed up with the Wang Ye or Princes of the Ming rebels. Popular folk culture has it that the Nine Emperor Gods are actually sea pirates of the Ming dynasty that plotted to overthrow the Qing dynasty. According to Priest Long Hua, this information is inaccurate and considered derogatory to the actual teachings of Taoism as the Nine Emperor Gods are actually high ranking Star Lords who preside over the movement of planets and coordinate mortal Life and Death issues.The Nine Emperors is formed by the 7 stars of the Big Dipper of the North Ursa Major (visible) and two assistant stars (invisible). When viewed closely, the arrangement of the 7 stars "the ladle"; and the 2 assistant stars on its left and right resembles a Yin-Yang pattern form.The Nine Emperor Stars are:1. Now allocated to Barrow-in-Furness for the 6, X6 group of services, it is seen on Blake Street on operating Service 6 Barrow - Ulverston on 21/01/2017. Ta-da! The Brussels Comic Strip Festival has turned into an immersive experience in the impressive Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis. The route, spread over more than 3,400m2 and combining breathtaking scenery and giant balloons, takes you on a journey through nine drawn worlds. It's an educational experience developed in collaboration with publishers and various partners.

9 worlds
Bob et Bobette/Suske &Wiske (Willy Vandersteen / Standaard Uitgeverij)
You start your immersive journey with Spike & Suzy (Bob & Bobette in French, Suske & Wiske in Dutch). Professor Barabas welcomes you in his strange laboratory. It is here that the famous duo reveals the secrets that link them to Brussels. What's more, Spike & Suzy are celebrating their 75th anniversary this year! It's a great opportunity to discover the new giant balloon bearing their faces. You can also see the heroes in their famous car 'Vitamitje' (Vitaminette in French), one of professeur Barabas' thousands of inventions, which appeared for the first time in the album 'De sprietatoom' (le Rayon Magique in French) in 1946.
